It could be a quick and easy repair. But agreed, if it had to go back to PP the repair/service would be as much as the watch. Even then for a solid gold PP O/S BTW, If its in a pawn shop, he will have a load of margin...probably can be had for $1500, even $1k. I'll bet he paid very little for it...if anything.
