The only option is to remove the coating until I can get a new crystal. What is the safest way to remove the coating while the crystal is still in the watch, considering that are ceramic and rubber parts in close proximity to the crystal? plaifender Posted January 19, 2011 Report Share Posted January 19, 2011 don't use capecod near rubber.... it will destroy it. If I were you I'd take the plunge and take out the crystal. really only takes about 3 - 4 minutes to take out a movement.. even less if you're experienced.. Once the movement and dial are out of the watch, most crystals will pop out with a little pressure from inside the case. What kind of watch is it?
