I usually check my screws...bracelet...Pam CG..etc..about once a month.

My diligence wasnt due resently and I lost a Pam CG screw. :(

So just a friendly reminder guys....check those screws. :)

Maybe I should start using some sort of Loctite...maybe 242?...any suggestions?

Good call Mike. They make a couple of different loctites. The blue 242 is meant to be able to unscrew if disassembly is needed down the road. The red 271 you would need heat to remove the screw. I'd say 242 is a prime choice for that application.

+1 Blue Loctite is your friend.

If the threads are wrong and the screw just WILL NOT stay tight, as if its hole is slightly too large, then there's a do-or-die trick. I've done this on aftermarket Oyster bracelets. Use some pliers and squeeze the screw by its threads until the shaft of the screw goes slightly oval. This will also booger up the screw threads a little. Then you'll have one chance to put the screw in and it will stay. Don't plan on taking it apart again or having an adjustment point there in the future.

Never use Red ... "heat up" is an understatement .. you are required to use a plumbers torch to loosen red Loc-Tite.

And I don't mean the UK "torch" with batteries.

edit: whee! my "perpetual" subscription expired again
