The problem was that the trees still have all their leaves, and the leaves caught so much snow on them that the branches could not take the load. We only received 4 inches of snow here, but 800,000 homes are without power due to falling trees and branches taking out power lines and ultimately 16 power sub-stations. I could post pictures but all the snow is gone now .. LOL! But people might be without power for another week in some parts of the state (CT) ... If the trees had been bare, this would simply not have happened. BTW my Internet service came back up 30 minutes ago, so Im cruising the forum The cable Internet was on the ground and wrapped around fallen limbs several houses up the street from me until this evening.
