pjsayer
I'm a RWI regular but I know Josh/PC is not a trusted dealer there so thought I ask the clever people at RWG... I'm about to order a couple of vintage Rolex reps from Josh: a 1680 Red and a 5512. I was planning on swapping the movements for low beat 21Js - will a DG2813 act as a 'straight swap' or will it need a different handstack length? Am I right in assuming the hands will fit just fine? Has anybody had any experience doing this? Thanks in advance...
jmb
You can order the 5512 (and probably the 1680) with a21j already.
pjsayer
His are high beat DG4813s. I want to swap for a low beat DG2813...
frankt
Just source the watches elsewhere....21,600 Asian movements are as common as fruit flies!!!
jmb
Oh, I gotcha! If you get the a21j version then the hands should swap onto a low beat from , say, Borel. If you start with the ETA version then you'll need different hands as well. That's really not a bad idea since the high-beat a21j movments aren't as easy to come by "in the wild" as the low-beat version. Or, swap it into a low-beat a21j rep that should be high-beat...
