Please for give the crappy quality as I don't have a lightbox and that jazz that some of hard core guys here do. The watches are the N00b Super Sea Dweller V2 w/Jackjo mods and a PBDad relume. The other is the newest Superlumed Sea Dweller V2 from Josh @ PC's. I have a couple of the V1 crappy rehaut models but I didn't include them, we've all seen that mess of a rehaut anyway! In the pics the SL SD is on the left and the SSD is on the right. Here they are, all constructive comments are appreciated. Just not about picture quality! HaHa I'll try to get some better pics and add to the thread tomorrow when it's not raining outside.
smc Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Rehaut on the new one looks good. The bezel pearl and insert is garbage. The bezel itself looks half decent. Crown is garbage. Crystal still wrong. They got rid of the crappy rolex crown on the crystal. Overall I think it's an improvement, but still not quite a super rep.

Rehaut is only marginally better on the new only because its not that big of an issue on the SSD as its made out to be. Lack of LEC on new model is a + Therefore, I'm not impressed vs the SSD.

duke1973 Posted March 30, 2012 Author Report Posted March 30, 2012 The crystal is a bit too tall, has the wrong bevel, and it has a pinkish tint to it in the sunlight. (not bad though, hardly noticeable) I have another one of these sent off for mods which include, gen crown/tube, gen insert or WM pearl and clarks insert if the gen doesn't fit, trim inside of the CG's, and bracelet softening. I also found a SSD V2 case to drop one of my other new SD's (V1 w/horrible rehaut) into. It should be an easy swap because the dimensions seem to match up pretty good on these two. I like the bezel teeth on the SSD better, they feel sharper and easier to grab and they look cut deeper than the new one.

Fix the pearl on the bezel insert and you will be ok. E I've read that the crystals are not inter changeable, unfortunately. There is always the mineral crystal Ofrei option to get rid of that LEC.

duke1973 Posted April 1, 2012 Author Report Posted April 1, 2012 A member here "watcher" did replace the crystal of the new SD with the mineral glass option from Ofrei but he couldn't use the crystal gasket and had to glue the crystal in the case.

rangers158 Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 The SL SSD has a slanted lugs. Seems like the CNC is not calibrated properly and lugs are slting to the right at the top. I have one in hand it is very pronounce when you see one in the flesh. Stay clear of the new SSDs, unless you can stand slantedcase/lugs.
duke1973 Posted April 4, 2012 Author Report Posted April 4, 2012 I'm having one modded right now by Jackjo, he's swapping the factory pearl with a watch material pearl. The factory pearl is not bad looking at a distance but it too bulbous looking and sticks up a little too far compared to gen.

Or looking at the lugs where the bracelet attaches?

The Clark's pearl is not bad, specially if you get lucky. The insert won't fit without a bit of sanding on the outer edges, but the inner diameter is fine. E
