Conundrum on which GEN movement to use

So, I have this dial on the bench, and a GEN case (converted 1601 to 1016) to go with it...

My conundrum....

Should I seek out a non-date movement (1520, 1560, 1570), or is it possible to convert a DATE movement (1575) most likely to a non-date.

1575's are plentiful. I have to wonder about canon size and seconds hand though...

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Also, I NEED HANDS to match. If anyone can assist me in a set of Mercedes hands for this project please PM me.

If the case is made for a no date movement and you convert a 1575 date movement to nd, you will need a center wheel, CP, and hour wheel...the ss pinion is the same and the tube in the ss hand comes in different lengths to accomodate nd, date, and GMT.

I am officially ruling out a "date" movement with downgrade.

I am intrigued by the 1520. It has the same type of regulator as an ETA, making for easier regulating and my own servicing. (Although I should probably just buy a microstella tool)

Thanks for the compliments on the dial.

Still on the look-out for hands! Anyone.
