Hi folks

I am recently looking at the IWC ingenieur and i really think I like this model.

I had the chance to try on a gen one yesterday and i loved it

My questions:

How many generations of them do we currently have?

How accurate the rep ingenieur is?

Should i buy one or just wait for a next version?

Thanks in advance :)

Well, I have been reading posts for a while around here but I just realised this is my first post! I am an active member at other forums too. I am glad I am part of this special group and just wanted to mention that.

Current one is great apart from datewheel. Do a few searches and you'll see what issues there may be and get that checked over.

Go for it.

There are a few people selling the current one at cheaper prices in trading zone, so I'd go for that if I were you.

Seems most common issues are:

Missaligned dial/face which can usually be fixed with a jaxa tool and a little turn

Chipped dial around the endges - seems very prevelant, check if dealer will replace watch if you get a chipped dial or just send you a new dial (in which case you have to figure out how to replace the dial)

Broken clasp weld - some came broken, some say it breaks easily on it's own after a while... this is most scary because it can send your watch flying to the ground or out the car window... however a jewler should be able to fix it for you with a quick weld after it breaks...
