KW 312 In the house...

Recommended Posts

Got this yesterday, and thought I'd post some pics for you all to drool over see.

Kuvarsit PAM 312-O.

I made a different strap for it, as I thought it needed to look a little gnarlier than the one it came with.

Overall, the watch is outstanding. I've had a gen 312 in the past, and it very much has the same feel. There are obvious differences when you look at the movement side-by-side with a gen, but I'd hazard a guess that won't happen too often.

Is it worth waiting for the second edition?

I wouldn't I can't imagine what they'll do better. Other than a few tells on the BACK of the watch, this is about as close as you're going to get.

Sweet! How much shipped?

I don't remember I think it was about $425.00?

Thanks for sharing - how's the lume?

Bright as any other late-vintage PAM rep. I'm sure it could be better...I have no clue. That's not something I spend a lot of time worrying about.

I made up another "rugged"  strap for it, and wore the watch again yesterday. It's steller.

(Not sure if it's cool to post a link to a NON-TD or not, so please nuke if inappropriate)

There are defiantly some inconsistencies between this and the gen. Most of them are on the back around the movement.

From a post I made on RWI:

The 2-3 things that I found on the movement will likely be fixed with the next version, and I can't imagine anyone figuring it out that quickly...even if they looked at it.

Face/Hands: All I found was the Sec-Hand @9 on the Gen is riveted, while on the Rep, it's pinned.

Movement: I tried to illustrate in the pics the differences with the text. Some is uʍop ǝpısdn, others isn't. The ordering is off too. This is EASILY fixable in the next run, of they decide to do such a thing.

Reading the dial left-to-right...

Gen: "ǝpɐɯ ssıʍs () TWENTY-EIGHT (28) JEWELS CAL. P. 9000"

Rep: "0006 ˙d ˙ןɐɔ TWENTY-EIGHT (28) JEWELS ǝpɐɯ ssıʍs"

Pulled the trigger on a 312 and a 359...what the heck!  With the QC pics with the 312, it appears to me that the lettering on the watch face appears to be darker, almost patina, however, perhaps it is the lighting.  Mr. Doug, is this your observation, having seen the watch in person?
