Removing a SSD bezel insert

Bad idea to remove bezel probably. Could get bent for your effort, and most likely will. Some of the modders out there have done it though.

You might ask Bonesy or Jmb depending on location. I have personally slightly bent one, and worse yet after straightning the bezel...got stuck frozen when I put it back on.

The insert is easy, heat the insert with a hair dryer or soldering iron, use an x-acto knife with fresh sharp blade to lift edge of insert up.

If you don't mind destroying the pearl, use a dental pick to pry the pearl out, then lift up from the hole where the pearl was.

On the classic SSDs (not the BP or superlumed Ultimates) is there a way to remove the bezel without damaging it or the insert? I don't think these pop out like gens do, correct?

Thank you for the help!!

Is it a Z series?

That's a trip down memory lane!  If memory serves me, it is one of the famous z series!
