hackR
argh...always takes me a lot of trial/error to change out a date wheel on an a21j...i have a new a21j movement that has the "rolex" style date font and i'm changing it out to a "breitling" style date font -- for a fun breilting franken superocean build (gen dial)...what position do you keep the crown/stem in when installing the new date wheel - winding, date change, time change position?...any pix and/or suggestions on the position of the date advance mechanism piece (whatever the hell it's called!) is appreciated... thanks...R
hackR
i'm thinking it should be winding?!...thoughts? Edited April 16, 2014 by hackR
Guest mikemcnair
Some will argue this, yet I have found the "winding" position to be the best to remove and install the stem. Also, most don't know, but you can install the stem simply by pressing it in. As in; no need to do anything other than slight rotation of the crown (so the clutch etc line up with the stem's shape) and press her in.
