Hublot- Which one?

Hi guys,

been looking around and what really catches my eye is the Ice Bang II.

Ive seen a few good ones, but these two are one of the best. I just can't tell the difference between them. Maybe you guys can help me tell the differences between these two? :)

One is called the HBB Evolution Full Ceramic Black (Ceramic Case+Titanium Bezel)

http://tswatchltd.com/11775-hb4020fo-hublot-big-bang-evolution-full-ceramic-black-ru-asian-7750-28800bph.html

The other one is called the HBB Ice Bang II (feat. a 316 SS case coated with ceramic + Tungsten Bezel)

http://tswatchltd.com/8055-hb2420-hublot-ice-bang-ii-black-dial-cer-tung-ru-asian-7750-28800bph.html

Could anyone tell me which one is closer to gen? Thanks a million :)

Between the two, http://tswatchltd.co...0-28800bph.html, <------ this is the more accurate one to gen due to the tungsten bezel and the updated movement screws, as well as the date font.

Note the following though:

a. there is a grey/black lume on the gen Ice Bang. This is missing on most reps.

b. the 6 o'clock subdial is not correct. 4 subdivisions between the numbers compared to 3 on the gen. (Very small flaw in my opinion)

c. The bezel screws are stainless steel on the rep, but a darker titanium on the gen.

It is however a lovely rep overall, and if I seriously like it, I would buy it and mod it to my satisfaction. :)

Legend, thanks for the great advice!!! :)

Anytime mate, but my knowledge is limited.

Speak to my friend Martijn, or the legendary PeteM on Hublots, and you can speak with guys like Folex if APs are your thing.

Remember, we are all here to share and learn and laugh at the silliness of others.

Thanks for the referrals :)

Actually, I'm not seeing the "minor flaw" of the 6 o'clock subdial... both the gen and the rep have (from what i can discern) the same number of subdivisions between the numbers of the subdial....

I'm referring to the first picture when you google Hublot Ice Bang - its a picture from the original website (of which link I would hesitate to post here)

The gen has 3 sub divisions in the 6 o'clock subdial between the longer markers. Look at this pic from the Hublot website.

Then look at the rep pic. You will see, young padawan. ;)

I took a closer look, the correct 3 divisions are there :)

  • 2 weeks later...

So is this a good one?

http://tswatchltd.com/8055-hb2420-hublot-ice-bang-ii-black-dial-cer-tung-ru-asian-7750-28800bph.html

I cant find any flaws against the gen. Also this version has 3 subdivisions and not 4.

What are the other flaws? (only frontside, the backside will no one see)

Thanks!

PS: are there other trusted sellers, who sell exactly this watch above? I found some, but they dont offer tungsten bezel, or with 3 subdivisions!

Honestly, I doubt the bezel is tungsten as stated. It looks more like titanium.

I mostly agree with you, this watch is very very close to gen on the wrist.

If I would micro-pick, I would say that the gen has grey/black lume, and the bezel screws are probably stainless steel instead of titanium.

But these form, in my humble opinion, not more than 3% of the accuracy score. Yes go for this if you like the ice bang 2. :)

Hi Legend,

thanks for your answer.

I found here the QC Pictures: http://tswatchltd.com/album/?ctl=photos&aid=56

I think the bezel doesnt look good, or is it just the photos?

The other one, are you sure that the DW Font is right? Looks not good to me.

For the other one:

Im sure that a modder can do the right lume on it, but i dont know whats with the screws.. maybe they use mikeys?

I did not found another seller for exactly this watch? from the other (big sellers only) sell a crooked one (4 subdials, no tungsten)

Hi Wne

In the QC pics, there seems to be some things wrong:

a. The bezel is very very likely titanium. Not tungsten. Tungsten is darker and looks different. I honestly do not know if there is a maker which uses real tungsten for the bezel.

b. The 6 o'clock subdial is wrong. (4 sub divisions)

c. The crystal AR looks wrong but it could be just the angle or lighting

d. The date font is likely correct, but to be sure, you need to see a two-digit date "28", "21", "19" are good examples.

Its not the same watch, yes. 4 Subdivisions!

I ask him for real QCs!

Thank you!

Be careful, because from what I understand, the V6 ice bang 2 has the wrong 6 o'clock subdial, with 4 subdivisions.

The V6 is already the best you could get in the market. Make sure that the "original" picture of the watch you ordered is not a picture of the gen watch.

Some unscrupulous sites are known to use pictures of the gen and sell you something else.

Let me know if this is the case. To be honest I have not seen a v6 ice bang 2 with the correct 6 o'clock subdial.

So that's the reason Toro has the version "6.5"! Which is ok @6:

http://www.torobravos2014.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=34_70&page=2

I know that very well.

But sadly, the ice bang which I was referring to, still has the wrong subdial @6, v6.5 or not. Have a look yourself.

I think I'm not getting what you mean...

The subdial @6 has 12, 4, 8 divisions, so it's divided in 3...

AAAAAHHHHHH,,,, ok, got it! IT's 3 lines between the long ones the problem!!! Now, finally I got it!

So v6 is still wrong.

But the v6.5 are ok (and lucky me it's the one I ordered): http://www.torobravos2014.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=34_70&product_id=1092

Ask Toro: I wasn't aware of version 6.5: when I contacted him I simply asked for a RG version complaining for the white date wheel, and he replied me that he had the new one with black DW and the day after on his page these versions 6.5 appeared.

Maybe he has the 6.5 for the Ice too, ask him :)

if there is a v6.5 for the ice bang 2, please let me know too. I have been searching in vain. Hmmm..

I dont understand, why they do 4 subdivisions, but other Hublots with 3.

And why no tungsten bezel, why no correct teeths...

Why they cant make a super rep? are they too stupid to get a gen to compare that?

All part of the game mate. ;)

Well when you get your QC pics please post here.. but I really doubt you will get the correct 6 o'clock subdial version because I have not seen one yet.

My advice is for you to pick another Hublot if that is the case, unless you do not mind the flaws pointed out to you. ;)
