Hi guys. Just got my killer franken from a fellow member here, and now the hunt begins for improvements.

Can anyone help me determine if this is a gen dial?

Im really no expert.

Cheers

Gen, i think it might be one that Minh had and offered me a while ago and is now sold, i guess the new owner selling it on.

Edit - Same style and model of dial but not the actual same one, Minh's had dirtier sub dials and lume dot damage on different plots.

Seems to be no question. Is there an obvious tell?

As a whole, it's more the absence of negative tells:  Sharp printing with characters spaced properly and serifs where they should be, correct dishing/grooving of the subdials, Singer coronet, disintegrating tritium spots...  I can only guess what this thing is going for these days, but I figure anything less than $3000 would be a good buy.  Yes, that's the world we live in.  :(

In this shape...$3800-$4500.00 USD....maybe more..

Vintage 1972-1974.

J, you're probably right about the value. I thought this might be a slightly later dial due to the high ROC and lack of sigmas, but nailing down the production years of these black dials confuses me. Was there any pattern as to when the sigmas appeared?
