The one that 'got away'?

Saw this post http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/105962-fs-genuin-93250-bracelet/ . This was a sales thread from 5 years back- a 93250 selling for $525.  It got me to thinking about watches/pieces I've owned.

What's the watch that you most regret selling?  I'll start with one: in 2000 I had an all original pointed crown guard GMT and sold it for $800.  This piece was beautiful with a perfectly aged insert and a dial that had gone chocolate brown.  At the time- that was a decent price . . .  but it still hurts.

Any other memories?

Got away...

All original 1959 6538 on swiss rivet oyster with tropical brown four line dial with no case corrosion...I paid $700 (seven hundred) for it and sold it before they were worth much.

Replicas...never wanted one back after it was gone.

Frankensteins...never sold one but they are starting to pile up.

Sold more genuine tutone 3035/3135 DJ and SS 5500/14000/14010/14010M AK than anything and do not miss them.

Sold seven tutone 3035 DJ to one guy in one month 12 or 15 years back when tt was hot...he traveled around selling jewelry and watches out of his car.

Like to have the four Zenith Daytonas back....three SS and one tutone.

Like to have the Monte Carlo that I paid $220 for back, plus the 1675 GMTs that I traded off.

What kind of 'nugget' do I have left?

A 6430 Speedking that I bought new in 1972 for $115 (it's nos now).

...wtf?   :fool:

Man, there are so many it's almost impossible to list. Swapped a Daytona back in about 1980 for a 1665 Submariner. I owned the Daytona for about 4-5 weeks, couldn't get used to the no date manual wind, Silly me, what did I know back then. Then sold the 1665 a few years latter to a dive student of mine for more than I paid in the swap. A couple of 1680 subs, a Chronoswiss Tora and a UN +/- Date are some that I really regret selling in the past 8-10 years. none of my reps, because I always seemed to be able to replace one with another that was better. I do know that I have some hard decisions to make pretty soon, as I have over 40 watches, and I need to cut that number down pretty drastically, so I might be having a "Fire Sale" pretty soon with some really nice reps.
