mikellem Posted November 1, 2014 Report Share Posted November 1, 2014 Hi guys, I am rarely here anymore due to illness. I have decided to pre-occupy me from my pain. I have chose to purchase 2 new watches. Both AP Divers, 2 different divers. These both will arrive with asian 2824 movements I just purchased 2 fresh Swiss 2824 movements from Switzerland.. I am looking for a great nodder who can do the following. 1) Install the ETA Swiss Movements 2) AR Coat the Crystal and Cyclops 3) Relume the dial I will NOT use Vac for personal reasons and problems i have had with him in the past. I spoke to Vac yesterday and it took me 30 minutes to get him to commute to a certain time window. Then he started preaching religion and telling me I can stay alive, when the reality, my disease kills all. I have multiple myeloma. and its NOT CURABLE. Vac should not discuss religion when he doesn't even know my religion. On top of that, i know a lot of old timers here. And the all email me direct. i have been told by 3 members that they had to return watches to Vac because of problems. His AR Coating is superb, his lume work is some of the best, his watch making skills are actually not consistent and customers have had problems. I hear how he has a new watch maker. i would assume that the new watch guy is doing the servicing, That might be a plus. He worked on 2 of pans years ago, they went back twice and he could not get them right. So anyway yesterday i thought I would a Shot, this is a nice order for someone. AT first he would not give me a delivery date. His answer was, I will get it done as soon as possible. Well I know on the board who had watches at his place for 4 months, and some watches had to go back to re-service and fix the problem. So when I Vac that i heard form some senior members that he is getting returns, and I said with life timeline, I can not afford that. So what do you think he did? He said "DO NOT SEND YOUR WATCHES, FIND SOMEONE YOU CAN COUNT ON", and you know what...i am glad he did it because if I have movement problems and he keeps the watch 60 days plus 15 more days for re-dew. I do not have that kind of time in the short period of life that i have left. Then he went on to say..."Why are you playing with watches when you are so sick" If he would have been here i probably would have smacked him. Then he kept going on with his religious stuff, and he told me I was doing it wrong to spend alot of time in prayer. He said thats wrong, if you would believe, you would not die. Let me tell me stats on my disease. NO ONE HAS BEAT THIS DISEASE. IT IS INCURABLE, BUT OBVIOUSLY VAC IS UNEDUCATED AND HE SHOULD NOT BE TALKING TO CUSTOMERS TELLING HIM HOW THEY CAN LIVE. MAYBE HE SHOULD QUIT WORKING ON WATCHES AND OPEN UP HIS OWN CHURCH...ESCEPT I DO NOT WANT HIM OR ANYWAY TO SAY THE WAY I HAVE MY RELATIONSHIP IS WRONG. THIS IS PRETTY SICK STUFF. NOW I KNOW WHY HE DOESN'T TALK MUCH..ANYWAY, IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME WITH A MODDER FROM ANOTHER FORUM, THAT WOULD BE WELL APPRECIATED. THERE IS ALOT OF TALENT ON ALL THE FOURMS. MOST MEMBERS STAY WITHIN THEIR FORUM FOR MODS, WHICH IS GREAT BECAUSE WE NEED TO SUPPORT OUR MEMBERS WITH TALENT. THANK YOU ALL FOR STOPPING AND LISTENING TO CRAZY DAY WITH VAC, AND I WE ARE BOTH FINISHED WITH EACH OTHER. BUT I MUST SAY, HE IS PRETTY SICK TO PREACH TO ME WHEN HE DOESNT' EVEN KNOW MY RELIGION. AND THEN TELL ME I AM DOING IT WRONG WITH GOD. OH MY GOD, THIS IS CRAZY. IF ANYONE WANT TO SEE THE EMAILS, JUST EMAIL ME AND I WILL SEND THEM TO YOU. SOMEONE NEEDS TO SPANK THIS GUY. I had to google it to understand what it is, and I feel for you. If you are willing to send your watches overseas, I have to agree with my pal AJ, Domi is your man. I respect the choices that you are making with regards to your life and watches, no sermon from me here, and I am willing to pay your mod fees for you. Sorry to hear about your illness. PS just tell Mike what's up in regard to your illness/time sensitive nature sure he will put in front of the pack he is a good guy . It's good that you are finding things to do that you enjoy while you are going through it. As for your project, your are unfortunately up against some things that don't typically go hand in hand with short timelines. Getting rep watches worked on is not a quick thing. The toughest part of your desired project is going the be the AR. I'm not sure I know anyone else in the US that does it for reps other than Vac. As others have mentioned Domi is about the only other one stop shop I know of that can do it all, but he's across the pond. Swapping the movement and the re-lume shouldn't be that bad from a time perspective, you just need to find someone that has a time slot that works for you. Just about any watchmaker can swap a movement. PBdad and Cwazy (over on RWI) have both done good lume work for me (in addition to Vac). Just as a shout out to other members ... if you have a watch that has the work done already and you can be without yours for a bit, think about helping Mike out. Swap your completed watch for his parts (and some cash for the build?) and get the build done again with a more relaxed timeline. Tom, thank you so much, Your two sourced PBdad who I remember from years ago, and Cwazy i do not know but that doesn't mean a thing:) Can these guys do AR coating also? I might have to ship it Domi in Germany. I know the correct way to get it there safely. I would have used back until he couldn't take any constructive criticism and pounded with his religion. No one has EVER BEAT THIS DISEASE. Vac promised me I would not die if i just believed. Come on Vac, and stay away from religion. I wrote DOMI yesterday, I don't know if you know....he lives in Germany but he is Italian. I learned from my very close friend Rolli, who also lives close to Domi. I am anxiously awaiting his reply. I know he is the AP MASTER, CASE CLOSED.. Thanks kindly to all of you, and I appreciate you checking out my illness, its not fun let me tell you. i could not come on the forum for 3 years. I use to come every night for at least 4 hours. This was my home away from home. Thanks again. i highly appreciate what you have done. I honestly have tears in my eyes. Its really not necessary. I think Domi will respond. I will keep you posted Legend. You touched my heart in a very special way.
