The chip is just a speck of paint or some other substance, the silver numerals sit in relief of the surrounding black paint, it can't chip, only the black paint can chip. I was thinking it was chipped... look closely at my photo, at 37 minutes on the insert there's a piece chipped out of the black. I sure hope I can just clean that off the 40.
