Does the 7753 need a thicker caseback? does anyone have any profile shots of their 7750 or 7753 builds? droptopman Posted January 25, 2015 Report Share Posted January 25, 2015 A couple parts: gen plexi, crown and tube. It is a good piece as it winds and keeps time well and chronos work. I got lucky. Was looking for something else and ran into this over at repgeek. Basically never worn. Guy bought it for his wife and she didn't wear it. Like to find a better dial but other projects in front of this. There is a guy over on rep geek doing some builds similar to DW. Not a Daytona expert but pics looked pretty good. Spacing is wrong on DW. That configuration is my favorite Daytona though. I had one of those, unfortunately it was one of the watches that MD2020 confiscated!! I remembered reading about a proper manual wind conversion for the 775- movement. I will be doing a service on mine soon, so while I am at it why not do the conversion. After a bit of searching I found out the bits that get binned and the replacement bridge I need to buy, Cousins UK part number 8501 for the Valjoux 7760 That leads to...There has been a thinner case back sold/supplied in the past. That movement has just the rotor removed, so I wander how much thinner it is with the full manual wind conversion, if at all? That is what come standard with my new ETA 7750s Right on chaw6125, this is what I was thinking since I do have one gen crown and the other Athaya, both of my movements are from DW so if I'm not mistaken they're Asian clone 7750's.
