This is a long over due thread that was posted over at RWI first... But should have been posted here first given this is Misiekped home..lol..!

About 5 months ago I sold my Franken 16613 project to switch up to something different... Everyone was already doing 16613 builds... And I wanted to do something a little more different a vintage!

It kind of fell together pretty fast ... I originally was looking for a Sean case .. Because of the CGs was so much better !

But I got a call from ST about the same time I was thinking of this build . They said they had a new holes case back in stock

So I went for it! And the rest is history!

I PM my buddy Misiekped and ask if he take on the project! He supplied some of the parts already I sourced for this build!

And I got to say he done awesome work on the project! And was very pleased with the results! Misiekped the man!

Need less to say Misiekped work is flawless bringing my old gen gold bezel assembly back to life!

His work is clean and some of the best work I seen!

Enjoy the pics! Another update is coming after this post!

Now the watch is back out to a good friend of mine Tagfan1 for case work! As you can see the watch doesn't look it's age ... So now we are taking the sharp edges off!

And least but not last!

Putting in a newly serviced Genuine Rolex 3135

still may change the case in the future after sourcing the gen end links and clasp to make the bracelet completely gen.....I'm going to see how the molded ST case suits me....But I say the CGs will never make me happy! .....then I may contact Phong for case engraving

Very nice build? It's un freakin believable! That's almost perfect. God knows what that cost. $4,000????

More like over 5k after said and done!

This is just for the love of the hobby!

It really don't pay to build your own 16803 or 16613 unless your not that anal about parts etc..?

Over $5,000, that's a lot of wonga.

I envy you though, I would love to do something like that but I have zero knowledge of how to. I can take a link out of a bracelet (just), that's about it.

I always wondered with these kind of builds: do you have an estimate of what you want to spend before you start, keep track as you go or just do it on the fly and add it up when you are finished and have a heart attack when you realize how much you spent?

For the love of the hobby for sure!  Awesome build man.  One of my favorite all time models.  Sooner I later I will either buy a gen or build one.  Probably cheaper to buy a gen but certainly not as much fun as building one.  Keep those pics coming.

This build is now complete with gen end links gen clasp to make the bracelet completely gen! So now this build is pretty much a gen on a aftermarket case! Because the ST case and Cape Co DW is the only parts that isn't gen!

Even after a couple of pair of high grade Swiss 2mm fat spring bars.. And even gen spring bars... They still don't hold up good as they used to! Especially when you mount them then take them apart a couple of time... It seams that the spring get weak and don't hold up... Even gen?

Love to find a good stiff spring bar that's 2mm and hold up good? Anybody with a suggestion please?
