Interesting... do you think HR are reading this thread :-) These new hands have taken on board many of the points made here and seem to have tried to address the proportions issues that exist in almost all lower budget had sets. If they were flat they would be winners, they have a what appears to be a similar "rounded" surface to the MY hands, but even so, I still think they possibly now represent the best single hand set buy for a vintage sub (pre 5513) out there particularly for "oversized" dials. It certainly is better than buying 3 sets just to make one.

Kick ass comparo Kime and thanks to everyone else who shared as well. Love it and a really great post.

I always thought it would be neat to have an excel spreadsheet with all the different parts, their sizes, what fits (eg bezel inserts, movement stem height vs case/crystal), etc...to know what you could build based on what you've got. Then you could essentially pick pieces and simply build Or trade with others to help out. It's never perfect but...might make it easier for those starting out. If you're creating a version of an original, maybe the mix and match isn't as important but it would a neat item to have.

Again, awesome post and very helpful. Cheers.

I noticed that the Raffles 6204 minute hand looked pretty good so I decided to take a shot and order the set. It arrived today, and to my surprise it was actually too long for the chapter ring on my Viet 6538 dial. I was able to trim the tip about .5mm with a hobby knife and reshape the point with sandpaper to get it just the right length. It doesn't look super sharp anymore but I think I solved the issue of short minute hands on our 50s Rolex  builds :)

Thanks to Jonathan (JSebWC) for taking a look at his 6204 handset to confirm it could work.
