modifications / repair of my Omega Seamaster GMT

space

Recommended Posts

I have this 2006 replica of the Omega Seamaster GMT.

I believe it has an Asian 2824 movement, that has stopped working (some years ago).

My watch interest is on the rise again, and I really love the look of this watch.

I think repairing the movement is out of the question, but what is the easiest/cheapest way of getting this watch working again?

I'm thinking new movement from ebay, or from a cheap watch, preferably with a white on black date wheel.

Maybe skip the GMT function.

Maybe new dial (and maybe new bezel insert, if I don't have a GMT function), making it something other than a Omega replica.

What options do I have?

What is the cheapest, pretty reliable, preferably automatic movement that will fit?

Would it be possible to fit a quartz movement?

Of all my reps this is the only one that has stopped working. The others have run steady on rotation since 2006. (Non-serviced)
