Insert adhesive

Sorry but I agree glue is not acceptable.   If you buy a cartel sub, they accept gen. Spec bezels so you can buy new aftermarket bezel assembly so your insert snaps in.       The glued insert that came with my cartel sub fell off in only 5 weeks.

It's frustrating because cartel has correct case neck diameter but then they didn't care to make the bezel correct, so you spend 120 bucks for whole new bezel assembly which is almost the cost of the watch.

I use Permatex silicone RTV adhesive sealant. I tried it initially because of compatibility issues with the makeup of the 6542 insert being plastic and painted. I have had several gen 6542 owners tell me that my insert snapped into their gen bezel perfectly, but I still recommended a touch of RTV for added protection. Aftermarket 6542 inserts and gen metal inserts are too expensive not to add extra care.  I've then used RTV on metal inserts in the rep watches, starting with the noob Sub I got for my Son. He lost his insert while cliff diving in Hawaii. After I recovered thud-faint-smiley-emoticon.gif, I got an insert from Clark's and RTV'd it in. That was 4 years ago, and more cliff diving and surfing, and it's still in. Removal when necessary is easy and it cleans up very easy.
