Yes, the only cartel case correct for a 2824 movement I could find was a PT 1680. It was intensively modified as you can see. Trimmed from the top down to appear super slim. Bezel and dial are from Vietnam... CWP T19 super dome. TC 16610 hands aged to match the dial. Caseback was the 1680 caseback totally modified. Inside runs a swiss made 2824. Voilà !!! I thinned the case sides down on a DW 1680 case using a cheapo Harbor Freight disc sander. It took a while and I never finished the lug bevels or removed the CG so the lug thinning part of it can be done without expensive machinery...but it is slow going. The mid case is 5.2mm thick in the middle of the 9 o'clock side and the same at the 3 o'clock side (centered over the case tube threads) so it may be thin enough as is. The DW case is made for a rolex 1570/5 date mvt or ETA 2836. I have an aftmkt 8mm tube/crown set but paying mucho $$ for a bezel would hold me back. rolojack...Please measure the thickness of your case in the center and see how thick it is if you get a chance. As well as the hands were re aged and the bezel is now brassy. However, I could not find such a low profile of T19. So it's not as slim as it should be. Damn.... You're killing me with that picture.... I really have to find a better crystal. Question is what to use? I won't find rep of that. It can only be an adaptation.... Nanuq Posted November 28, 2016 Report Share Posted November 28, 2016 I had a T39 on my Snowflake and was able to cut it down a bit over 2mm until the inner curve of the dome hit the rehaut. A T19 has a thinner dome so you might be able to cut lower than that? A vibrating sander works great. Another thought... I have a 5517 that needs a crystal slightly bigger than a T19, and a T21 from an old DW Daytona fit like a champ and looks great. I really wonder what T21 could replace a T19... Ah, the 5517 isn't gen spec, so a T19 wouldn't fit. I tried 12-15 different crystals and POW, that one worked. Take a look at the Sternkreuz catalog. A T19 comes in a couple sizes, and comparing the most common size I see possibilities in the XAG 297.519, the XAC 301.616 and XAC 301.617, and the XAC 312.680.
