Paul/Abay '5514 COMEX' from 15+ years ago...

11951195_IMG_0471(2).thumb.JPG.27b3f7b94525b093f5fb709dd4411052.JPGIMG_0465.thumb.JPG.8067b593426eb29c24f7b6161b8b07d7.JPG

Clark bezel kit, GS PA 462-66 low dome crystal, ETA 2846 (swiss 2836 removed when watch was new).

The HEV was removed and a plug made and pressed into the case, lugs drilled,  The HEV was OEM spec...I compared them.

Still has original 'too thick' crown and dial with 'too thin' markers at 3-6-9.

All of these pics were made today, not many of these bracelets floating around.

'Sidewinder' logo on the clasp cap, still in original wrapping...

NOS F520117 swiss 2836 'noobmariner' from 2006/7, still wrapped in plastic...

Could not take a wrist shot because the clasp is sealed closed.  Pics made 11-13-21.

I found a nos 'noobmariner' with the engraved reflector/rehaut and the serial number is M092117.

I forgot I had one.

12-18-2021

Looking around on eBay and spotted a used 'noobmariner' M092117 case from Morocco that went for $760.00 USD after 24 bids on October 6, 2021.

Looks like some doode got scrooed.  But that's Ok...because it's 'sexy'.

The watch above is unmodified and came with DG 3804.  It has a pretty good dial etc with brass mvt spacer and movement holding screws, no plastic.  Blind lug holes make it similar to genuine watches made in the early 2000s.

Same case etc as used on some swisseta examples around 2007/2010 or so.  I'll dig a swisseta model out and post pics later.

Here is a very good comparison/review of a genuine five digit GMT vs a BP Factory GMT with sharp pictures:

MBK '5512'...

IMG_0552.thumb.JPG.7b9f279d8f413a2d65a35d9033fad821.JPG

NOS ETA 2879, MBK dial, ST hands/bez kit/case tube/spg brs, GS crystal, oem crown, lugs drilled, 'Mary' fold-oyster/WSO 580 hoods.

It needs the correct type of insert dot.

Folded '7836' type bracelet from Mary with an '8 hole' clasp added.

Not a very good job on the center link/spacer above the flip lock lever.  Made it out of a narrow bracelet link.

Made a tool to crimp 'clamping dents' in the clasp out of pliers for cutting 'Gucci notches' in leather straps.

Center connecting links from a spare bracelet, this '7836' came with 'figure 8' links.

Had to curve the spring bars a little bit so they would line up with the lug holes.

'16003' project started 10 or 12 years ago, traded it away, got it back, and finished it this past summer (finally put a bracelet on it).

Rep-case with lug holes drilled (they were blind).  Genuine bezel, aftmkt acrylic 135C crystal, ST case tube/genuine crown, rep-dial, new aftmkt jubilee style bracelet.

Has ST16 movement now, maybe a different dial with markers and ETA 2836 later.
