1960’s Panerai

I ran into this yesterday and wanted everyone’s thoughts. The case is supposed to be a 1960’s, as well as the Angelos Dial. The case is supposed to be made by Rolex and stamped on the inner caseback. The crown has a Rolex crown and says Brovet on it. The face is deteriorating and looks amazing. It has deep Gold stamped lettering. The movement is aftermarket for sure, but wonder about the rest. Then I should have used a better movement in this build :)
It's one of my creations, but the case had a bronze coating if I'm not mistaken. Did anyone try to sell you this one with a bogus story or something?@bdjack7777

They said they got it in a trade years ago and didn’t know much about it, and basically shared the same details I shared above. When I opened it, I could see the movement was aftermarket, but the rest seemed legit. It took a lot of effort to get this look.

Well I built this less than two years ago and sold it on RWI, where I'm most active, I think around 400 EUR or something.

I do Panerai style builds but with a twist, like this.

It's fun to see them turn up and with stories attached to them but lately one of my older builds was sold for way too much money by someone with bad intentions but don't know who.

Well thanks for the enlightenment. I ended up taking a chance and traded an authentic 1984 Rolex Datejust in excellent condition. I paid $1500 for it and had an offer for $1900. I thought it was worth a chance.

I will say, it is an amazingly beautiful piece. Put it on my wrist and fell in love with it.
