He told me he has constant relations with manufactures which can mke AR and he asked them, if they could do it on watch crystals. The answer was YES, they just need to make a special part, to let the machine working on watch crystals, which are smaller than optical lens, but they are willing to do it. The cost would be something around 25-30 Euros each, depending on the number of pieces. -- Lello. i have asked many local optican, but they all couldn´t help me out. jec97t Posted February 18, 2007 Report Share Posted February 18, 2007 Actually, I don't think they would have to spec new hardware specifically for AR'ing watch crystals...many of the more modern frame styles are quite small so the technology is currently in place to get this going. But is not sure that the laboratory make the A/R... the price could be more 60 Eu . I am waiting for news... Mahler, you will want to find out what type of coating this optician applies. Most of the coatings applied by opticians are spin coats, which are not the same type of coating used on watches. They're less durable, and usually the color isn't right.
