strat22
While attempting to adjust the date on my Noobmariner, the crown completely unscrewed itself from the watch. I was able to thread the crown back on, but when I turn the crown counter-clockwise, it comes keeps coming unscrewed. I tried using some super glue, which kept the crown from coming undone, but I still can't adjust the date on my watch. It feels like the stem isn't catching on the datewheel. What the heck should I do here? Can it be repaired? Should I toss it? Thanks for your help!

strat22
Are you sure it's a Noobmariner....? It's the $108 Asian sub from Trusty. Sorry if 'Noobmariner' isn't the appropriate name.
sssurfer
I tried using some super glue, which kept the crown from coming undone, but I still can't adjust the date on my watch. I hope you glued the stem to the crown, not the stem into the movement! Out of joke, most likely the keyless work got screwed up. An easy fix to any watchsmith. And yes, 'noobmariner' is a registered trademark of TTK.
chubbchubb
Like the surfer said.... to use glue on crown and stem while the watch is still assembled is pretty risky. A movement is a delicate thing and one tiny drop of glue in the wrong place can $
Amplitude
Take it to a watchmaker. It'll be a 5 minute fix. You shouldn't use glue on it at all. If you screw the crown down tight on the stem while holding it in a pin vise, you probably won't need to use anything at all. I do use a -microscopic- amount of blue loctite on some stems, but it isn't necessary in most cases. If you loctite it, all you need to do to remove it if you need to is heat the stem a little with a lighter and the crown will come loose again.
