There's even a Norse village up at Soi Rungland.....where they all gather.....more booze drunk there than anywhere.....and the proof of the pudding about the drink is YOUR double post........stay off the Aquavit.....or else the little lady is gonna have to come on again and extend your apologies.....! The truth is probably down to opportunity and the limits of the human body. Agree in part. Patriotism and bravado seem to drive opinions on this issue. Personally, I think that experience and innovation are the marks of a good spec-ops group. Moreover, it's all the intel and planning behind the warfare that gives teams an edge. So it's really a synergy, not a single component. If one gear of the movement fails, the entire watch may cease to function. Hence Israel's debacle in Lebanon which, in my opinion, came from poor leadership. BTW, I wouldn't compare Israel's Sayeret Matkal to American Navy Seals. While Matkal soldiers are highly operational and have considerable field experience, their program is accelerated when compared to Seals. I think that Seals are generally in for longer and have more training under their belts. Moreover, both units stress different capabilities and skill sets. I think I read that Matkal was originally fashioned after the British SAS even though it has created its own paradigm today. There are other career units in Israel that are superior to Matkal in operational capability and experience, even though Matkal gets the spotlight for its high profile operations.
