Hi Guys.

So when comming home we snooped out a few pages and she is in between an omegas and some rollie datejusts.

Now i have no experience in ladyes reps so i came to u fellas for quidence . What coud be the best choice here in terms of good rep. dont know wich ones are close to gens so if u have some info let me know .

Also let me poit out that golden pieces and diamant bling bling pieces are not what she is in to .

Also if u have some pics of ure beter half wearing a piece coud be appriciated .

Keep em commin (the ideas and pics)

Laz, it seems you targeted mostly men in your post, so I'm not sure if you actually want to take advice from a lady poster, as I am.

(That sounds touchy, I realise, but I mean it in the spirit of a "woman's eye" for watches, rather than the implied quantity of male posters here which is obviously higher)

My first thought was, he didn't give us enough info on the kind of woman his wife is -- yes, even if you mentioned she's not into golden pieces, or bling bling.

If I may ask, what kind of background are you? Blue-collar? White-collar? Is she the type that wants to impress her girlfriends with her new $$$ watch, or does she just want to have it on her wrist for the beauty of the piece? Is she knowledgeable at all about Swiss watches, or is she the kind of person who mostly knows "Rolex", and that's it, not "Patek Phillipe", "Vacheron Constantin", etc.? Would she balk at wearing what might be considered mostly a man's watch (PAMs)?

This all makes a difference in first choosing a watch to suit her, then seeing what is out there that is the closest possible to the gens.

Without knowing a single-thing about your wife, here are some basic links to one reputable dealer's watches. Show them to her, and see what she says:

Gucci Twirl

http://www.ttwristwatch.com/index.php?main...d5c1cbaba78274d

(From Andrew. Note, I just bought this from him -- awesome --, and I have two real Gucci Twirls, in brown dial, with and without diamonds, but in the wider cuff variety than the reps out there look like. The real Gucci Twirl doesn't come in black dial, but Andrew can mod it for your wife in the brown dial. Ask him. The main differences between the real and Andrew's rep is that my gen has GUCCI in muted grey, and his is in white, with somewhat larger font. Other than that, an ALMOST perfect rep)

Franck Mueller "Crazy Hour" (available in several colours)

http://www.ttwristwatch.com/index.php?main...;products_id=40

(I've found that people either LOVE this watch, and believe me, it's a very very hot watch at the moment in Ibiza, and the South of France...or they just hate it, and think it looks like it came from a gumball machine. I hover somewhere between both opinions. My mother wears a gen one with her LV Murakami bag -- which I loathe -- and it looks stunning on her)

"J12 White Ceramic Men Swiss Quartz"

http://www.ttwristwatch.com/index.php?main...roducts_id=1160

(Everyone and their grandmothers wants this watch. Other than Technomarines, this is the hot watch of the moment for women. Real ceramic in the rep, I believe. I include the Men's version because almost all women now who want to be in fashion, are wearing it large. The larger the better, but of course, it's up to your good lady wife)

I'll monitor this thread to see what others suggest, but I already know the replies will include:

1) Linking to a really "small-sized" watch, because that's what men think women like, exclusively. And the tiny, spaghetti-thin Gucci watches are so not in at the moment.

2) They'll say, don't show her the Panerai area!, more-or-less because of the reason I already mentioned. For the record, the PAM Purdey Lion looks awesome on a woman.

Good luck!

Another difference is that the rep one has a crown with GG on it, whereas the real one has GUCCI in small script and a tiny R (trademarked).

I noticed that Andrew's site pictured it that way too, but when we actually got the watch, it had GG on the crown. Since he modded it specially for us, I didn't even mention it to him, but just so that you know. :)

Good one! But it had the bling-factor, so I demurred. ;)

How about the Casablanca?

Ok thx for initial replyes ,

let me give a more background on her.

She is 26 years old , graduated 2 universities and tech savy as they can get. She works in computer company one of the biggest ones out there and dresses buisness proffesional style except fridays buisness casual wear .

She is not the type to flash out werry calm nature and would not be even thinking of showing of the piece to her coworkers / friends .

Therefore she is looking for a traditional watch ... wery calm wery sharp .

Also wrist size is small my 40 mm sub looks on her like the 217 destro 47mm pam on me ... even do she likes biger watches she cant really pull that off just looks to weird if u catch my drift .

Also she has some wishes ! the watch needs and i cant stress that enough needs to have MINUTE MARKERS . She is the most calculating person up to a minute sharp i have ever known so she woud never want a watch missin that .

Date window is also there but that one she can live without in the end of the day ...

So its not about the brand that much butr in my opinion rolex day date or omega constelation 35 mm kinda suite the bill here ... or there is more and i dont know where it is :)

I know one lady who was pleased with Trusty's DJ, black dial, diamond markers, fluted bezel and Jubilee bracelet. Very stunning; elegant and slightly sporting at the same time. Wasn't enamored of the Francoise with diamonds--didn't look so great. The 24 got mixed reviews although I liked it. J12 is a nice option, too

Hi Kollektor thx for the input .

The J12 is the only one that remotely fits the description but is to big in terms of size for her ...

The DJ is good idea but no diamonds as she dont want that and i presume minute markers miss from that one 2 ?

Okay, first thoughts is that traditional women's watches wouldn't suit her needs. They are not overly technical, though they fit her size requirements.

First thoughts, as I nod off to bed, still awaiting a Chinese rep dealer's email...

Chronoswiss Pathos Skeleton White

http://www.ttwristwatch.com/images/CHR0003_2.JPG

Drawbacks: 38mm (still too big maybe). Leather band. Not TOO bad in terms of gen-rep contrast, though.

Bvlgari Ergon Ladies Automatic SS White

http://www.perfectclones88.com/bv10004-erg...hite-p-708.html

Drawbacks: Don't much care for it, meself. :) But it's 29mm, it's got seconds hand, and the date.

Ladies Santos 100 Chrono SS White Quartz Working Chron

Drawbacks: Looks good to me, copy-wise; it's only 33mm, it's got chrono, and is only $118.

More later. :)

vbarrett thx for taking ure time appriciate ure input :)

out of the mentioned suggestions cartier santos is the likely candidate ... all do im a bid in doubt due to movement and the non needed chrono function that only brings complication ...

Im thinkin eta movement here ... i was happy with them till now and put most of trust in them ( movement part i decide as course if somethin will be wrong with the piece ill need to take it to service etc)

Any other ladies out there with suggestions , or any other guys that bought somethin simillar to what im after to their ladyes .

I like everyones choices here. But if the dimensions are small enough than no one has suggested that you can go with a mans watch. A client of mine recently did this. Think about this one for your lady. You will find many collectors that stock this watch, andrew and josh both have it, but i am sure Ruby can get it for you and her price is more competetive. So you might want to pm her. The size is 39mm i believe off the top of my head. Here are pictures showing two differenct versions. Again, you might want to try Ruby. Enjoy :tu:

I got my wife a custom EL DJ to see how the watch would fit in with her daily lifestyle before getting her a gen...

274359-2802.jpg

After a little over a year's worth of ownership, the watch has been through quite a lot. I've refinished the case and bracelet a few times already, though in it's current state, one would never know by looking at it

On occassion, my wife will also wear some of my watches out of the collection. The following are the ones that look particularly nice on her petite wrist...

274359-2803.jpg

274359-2804.jpg

274359-2805.jpg

And, of course, I tried the Panerai approach with her... Got her a PAM51 sometime ago with a variety of straps (I thought she might find the novelty of changing the look with straps to be appealing, but ultimately, she said it was just too big of a watch for her)...

274359-2806.jpg

We find that reps are a good way to 'try before you buy' with her... She has a knack for really putting a watch through the wringer...

TWP amd sir lancelot thx for the tips but cant realy see her going for the watches that size she has small wrist my 40 mm submariner is waaaay to big for her ... all do that cartier looks nice ...

@ ubiquitous

now that lady DJ u pictured there kinda fits the bill ... let me extend that

1 size wise looks small enough thats a 25 mm ?

2. it features minute markers witch are top of the list

3. it dont have gold inserts dials etc and no diamond inserts bling bling stuff that she dont wanna wear

4. even has the date that is not mandatory but bonus nevertheless

Do u have any wrist shoots of her wearing that rollie , whats the size of her wrist if not to much to ask.

In terms of watch how close is it to gen or its a fantasy model ? What kinda mech is in there and how it behaves as a timekeeper :) oka lotsa questions feel free not to answer :)

And last one hehehe any simmilar DJ models with same kinda caracteristics as the strongpoints mentioned in 1-4 above .

cheers laz

laz... The best thing with ladies' DJ's (and men's) is that there are unlimited combinations of dials, cases, bezels, bracelets, etc. so really, anything is possible :)

Movement inside is an ETA 2671... For the past year it has been keeping excellent time.

No wrist shots... And I haven't measured her wrist, but I must say that it looks perfect on her wrist. Very feminine and well balanced.

I'll try and get a pic of it on her wrist....

Lazarini - I can try to get you a wrist shot of the wife with DJ and gen Tag Aquaracer (very pretty and versatile watch) to give you an idea of wrist size vis-a-vis case sizes. She is very petite. Wish I could convince her to wear my Pams and Breits. You can get DJs customized however you want. Stick markers, roman numerals, etc.

Kollektor ,

the DJ and tag wristshoots woud be appriciated indeed if ure lady woud be willing to pose for some so i can get a general idea here going ...

U know how it is when it comes to mens wrist shoots of watches plenty to find around the boards ... ladies ones are more difficult to source ...

I would get her the Rlx Exp, traditional classic look but still hip. Its the next on my hit parade. I wear a genuine Roadster and a rep J12. I have looked at all the ladies Rlx reps and the problem is the date font is wrong. Get her the trad. explorer, she will love it. Have it serviced and waterproofed and you can forget about any problems, it will be almost bulletproof.

Laz, if you can get over my weak photography skills, here are some wrist shots to put things into perspective. Wife has 6" wrist. The DJ is stunning in real life; the photos don't do it justice. Anyway, should give you some idea of the size. Let us know what you get!

Ooh, another lady poster. :)

My mum just pulled the trigger with Josh for the large-size Tankissime in YG (another very hot watch if one is into Cartiers, which I'm not, alas). It's practically indistinguishable from the original, save for the cabochon not being the usual blue, but in crystal. Ah well, can't complain for a Benjamin.

Ack, this reminds me that since starting to post on this forum, I've bought two PAMs on which I am still awaiting delivery. And your wife's wrist is larger than mine (5.7").

With this side-by-side shot, it brought home to me the fact that I might look like I'm wearing a clown watch...but the Pannie fever was too strong!!

I hear you. Someone here (or possibly on the other forums) posted a photo of his girlfriend wearing a Panny. It looked fantastic on her. Don't know what wrist size she was, however. But don't forget, there are models that are smaller than 44mm which may be right up your alley.

If you would like a wrist shot of the Better Half wearing one of my Pams, just say the word...
