Resizing Chanel J12 bracelet

Some of you might remember my post last month about how I took my girlfriends chanel j12 to get the bracelet resized at a watchmaker and how they broke the link on the clasp... well, I emailed Josh and he sent me a replacement clasp at no charge. After I got the replacement clasp, I was wary to bring the watch to be resized at watchmakers anymore... so i decided to try it myself.

To my surprise, it was very easy and I had the tools to do it all along! First of all I had a pin pusher tool in my screwdriver set so that is what i used to push the pin on the link. the pin popped out on the other end and i then used a small flathead scredriver to pry the pin out. Be careful not to touch the ceramic with the screw as you might scratch it. This is quite simple, just use the head of the screwdriver and put it under the pin and pull it out.

After this is done... just resize the bracelet to whatever size you like and when you put it together... dont use a hammer to hammer the pin in as you will very likely break the ceramic! All I did was use my tweezer I had in my screwdriver set. This is how I did it, I put the pin in the link and pushed as much as I could with my fingers. I then sat the watch on its side on a flat surface (with the bracelet on the flat surface only and the watch face hanging over the edge so I could get a flat surface - I had the pin with the smooth surface facing up, not the one with the hole to push the pin pusher tool in), I then used my tweezer, turned it to the flat wide side... with two hands on the tweezer and push the whole tweezer downwards - the pin should clip into place with some slight force. This way, you have a very large surface area of the tweezer so you wont miss the pin and hit tre ceramic link.

Hope the above helps anyone trying to do this in the future - I am not very good at describing with words so if you have any problems just ask me.
