drop
Pardon if this has been addressed before, but is there any difference between the Asian and the Swiss 111Hs outside of the available (non-functional) swan neck? Anything more attractive regarding mod options with the swiss v. asian versions? Just trying to determine if the extra $100 is worth it... that said, don't know if the movement even looks close to gen in either case. Cheers! that_watch_guy
I own a few versions of the 111. The Swiss one is a little heavier, has a nicer crystal and obviously the regulator. I'm a big fan of the Swiss version! Other than that, they appear to use most of the same parts.
Pugwash
Pardon if this has been addressed before, but is there any difference between the Asian and the Swiss 111Hs outside of the available (non-functional) swan neck? At the end of this month, I'd be surprised if the H movements still had non-functioning swan's necks.
infinitime
At the end of this month, I'd be surprised if the H movements still had non-functioning swan's necks. why do you say that? is there something coming down the pike?

eLiNK
As far as I know, yes. Actually, Puretime has once given to understand we could expect 111H with functioning swan neck regulator at the end of may.
Pugwash
Actually, Puretime has once given to understand we could expect 111H with functioning swan neck regulator at the end of may. The G movements were out end of May, and the H movements are right behind them, from what I hear.

robertk
What about the Lume. Any difference? To me, this is the dead giveaway this is a rep. Of course! I'm always showing mine off to a room full of paneristi's in the dark.
nicewatch
Great! Just when I was about to pull the trigger on the 111H with Swan from EL, I read this! Well, I'm glad Pugwash mentioned it. Looks like I should wait a few more months!

ehtolcad
take a joke pal and to answer your question, no it doesn't appear that the lume is significantly better on either of the two.
Kenneth
I have the asian and it doesn't work well. It stops working after about two hrs. I've read the same from others as well. I will probably just replace the movement with a swiss.
nicknoh
I was able to compare my CN 111h with a friend's Swiss, both latest versions from EL. They are quite similar, although the CN version has a darker dial, crooked hands, and lume only on the hands. From the back, the CN movement had rougher finishing and wasn't as shiny and clean as the Swiss.
sjedwardz
I had an Asian but had to send it back as it gained 5 minutes in 20!! That was regardless of how I twiddled with the regulator. I've ordered a swiss one instead to replace it, hopefully this will be better!
