UncleJay
I opened the package, took her out, removed all the plastic, moved the clasp pin into the right position, then went to set her and ........ WTFrig, is this a swiss ETA? Is there anything I can do to fix the date myself or should I just send it back? So much for my excitement, it has now become a hastle ...... don't you hate that? :yucky:

freddy333
TwoTone is probably right, but try pulling the crown out to the date-set position & running through all of the dates. Sometimes, the date wheel can become partially dislodged out of its track & the dates are then off-center in the date window. If that is the problem (rare, but it does happen), running the dates should either pop the date wheel completely out of its track or realign it. If it does the former, send it back. If it does the latter, case closed. A longshot, but I would give that a try before you go through the time & expense of shipping it back. You might get lucky. Seems that 1 to 13 are fine, then starts to drop at 14. By 20 it's low and not centered up to 31 which looks OK. I think it's the printing on the date wheel. Watchmeister
That one is kind of a mess. Definitely send it back.
UncleJay
Here are a few more pics. The watch is overall OK, but not what I expected. I figure that even if the dw was fine it would need mods, so I'm better off paying the shipping to The Zigmeister rather than back to Josh. I'm no expert, but a new cyclops, lelo dw, OEM crown/tube, and a relume maybe? These seem to be the MVMs (Most Valuable Mods) and really make a difference in the overall look. BTW, I've resized my pics, are they too small or just right?

KB
Is it just the cyclops or is there something wrong with the dw font as well? Agree with the above the lume looks unusually shiny. Ken

By 20 it's low and not centered up to 31 which looks OK. I think it's the printing on the date wheel. Doesn't change the final outcome, but I'm thinking it's an overlay issue. They sometimes use an overlay to get the ETA date position right for the rolex dial, and they didn't align this one properly. Back to Asia it goes. Sadly, you've just had your first and hopefully your last experience with the worst rep headache of all which is, when you calculate the cost of your time, spending more than what the rep is worth to pack and ship the thing back to China. BTW, rolex experts, should that have a roulette DW and a slow beat movement? If that's what it needs, I might be able to help you out.
Stephane
With such a dial, I'm not sure the watch can be modded to look close even by Ziggy
Watchmeister
So I guess the question is whether the piece is worth investing more money into it or is he better off starting with a better base piece?
