How can you tell the first one being a fake?

The photos are really bad.

Wait, is it a white datewindow?

ugly caseback, no serial number on the case, wrong PO Engraving on case back, thin crown, and thin hands.

Cheapo asian version.

"He" valve also appears too low on the first.

Is the second a 45.5mm w/ 20mm lugs?

Hopefully these get nabbed or someone is going to be [censored]!

Yeah I've learned that Ebay doesn't always pull them. There are people out there that are just going to get screwed.

Sucks but I guess thats part of the game. Some bad ones sneak through every now and then. I reported several shady Rolex listings a few weeks ago. All of which still sold for around $2000.

Imagine paying $2000 for a rep and not knowing it. You have it for 2-3 years and send it in for service to realize its been a fake all along.

I'm glad I now know what I know about reps and gen watches!

I contacted the seller and asked for a better picture of the caseback and for the serial number...

This is what he replied:

Hi, thank you for your interest

The serial number is on the strap next to the lug and it 98000085.

Serial numbers on the STRAP....how'bout'dat? :bleh:

Cheers

If you look at the feedback of the supposed buyer of the first Seamaster and clck on his last two successful bids before this, you will see that he doesn't actually buy these watches. There are fake buys as well as fake sells on Ebay! ;)
