hey guys

i read around the board the reviews of the 42mm PO and i want to buy one.

but i have some questions:

1) am i right that of the 42mm, the the 4th gen is the best one?

2) is this one a 4th gen one: http://www.silix-prime.com/product.asp?id=1501

3) if so, doesnt it have a wrong logo? omega logo with "feet"? i think by-tor said the non-feet one is the right one but that the silix rep is the best.

can anyone help me to find the perfect 42mm PO?

thanks so much

simon

Simon,

It has been a while since I've seen my 4th gen, but based on those pics this looks like a 4th gen to me. You are correct that the feet on the logo are wrong, but the hands are short as well, that is the way it goes with these reps.

There are a couple of dealers selling a 21j 42mm PO for around $100 that look pretty good, but they have the 45mm style of bezel.

The watch seems to have the correct He placement just above the 10 marker which is correct. When the He marker is centered on the 10 it is a dead give away. You can change the hands for about $60 and the dial but you can't change an "off" case.

hey guys,

thanks for your help.

so in other words, there is no 4th generation PO 42mm with correct logo, and the only way to get a correct logo is by ordering the 45mm ultimate version?

i think i have seen a 42mm PO with a correct logo (from silix?) somewhere around here in a rewiew, but maybe i was wrong.

EDIT: this is the review by by-tor i was talking about: 42mm 4th gen with correct logo. http://www.rwg.cc/members/Review-OMEGA-Pla...Ocea-t7483.html

does anyone know where i can get this version?

best,

simon

Ha ha.... :thumbsupsmileyanim: im a freak now.. :) i like this...... feast yourself:

The new ultimate version of the 45mm introduced a wrongly shaped logo, its been said the feet are shaped like the older seamasters

..good news is, if that bothers you, well... you're just like me, you'll need serious neurological evaluation:

Unless you give to the person that examines the watch a nuclear molecular microscope...you wont be able to see the difference.. so... go for the 45mm!..it aint all that big if you go for the rubber strap..and if that is good enough for bond..i'll think you'll do just fine..

cheers

A.

hey nnomad, thanks for your reply.

well, i mean, it doesn't bother me if i knew the wrong version was the only one available. but by-tor has one with the correct logo. so if i can get the correct-logo one somewhere, then of course i want that one if i can choose.

so does anyone know where i can get the correct logo one?

1) yes

2) yes, but silix does not have the watch and absolutely can not source it any more. if you buy that model from silix they will send you something different

3) yes

4) www.tt88.com sells it

Regarding that www.tt88.com sells it. - He might not have updated his webpage. Are you sure he sells it?

I am assuming you mean Trustytime?

I found it on his webpage, however he says he doesn't have it anymore. :(

This one: http://www.tt88time.com/index.php?main_pag...;products_id=25

He says he only have this one: (small P&O on the back)

hello everyone,

thanks a lot for your help.

so if i understood correctly, no dealer carries the 4th generation anymore,

and there's only the 3rd version available now?

is that correct? or does still someone carry the 4th gen?

joshua just said he has this one on stock: http://www.jpc8118.com/omse10010-seamaster...242-p-1432.html

it has the same price as the one from andrew: http://www.tt88time.com/index.php?main_pag...cts_id=25"

but it has a different logo!

still i guess it is 4th gen and has AR, so would you buy it?

Joshua and Andrew bought out all remaining stock from the watch builder so they could control the price. If those two don't carry it, then there are none left but some may show up used in the trading section from time to time.

4th generation ones aren't perfect. Usually the lume falls off the dial. if you can live with that or get it relumed, it is a nice watch.
