Hacking the movement so the watch doesn't run is ok, but you could end up with wear issues with the crown & threads... oh, and improper distribution of lubrication if it sits for long periods like that.. Additionally, simply not running a 'sliding clutch' type chrono, while the watch is running actually increases friction and wear, the opposite of what you might think... jfreeman420 Posted May 27, 2009 Report Share Posted May 27, 2009 I have one of the first generation with the thiner case after they fixed the subdial rings to be thinner like gen (the first ones had fat ugly rings aroundthe subdials.) This one is still running strong, keeping good time after 5 years or more. Two others with the fat case in two tone work when they want to. Usually run for a couple hours and then stop. Noel Fleischer Posted May 28, 2009 Report Share Posted May 28, 2009 i have 3- a TT from a scam site still working well after 2 1/2 yrs.pic on right- nice watch but i paid $1000!!! one from chris that died after a month but he froze the sec @ 6 hand- works good now. a 3rd that works on the wrist- lasts 4 hrs. off then dies!
