I built this one for my Uncle around July of last year; I think it promptly shit the bed maybe 3 months after...

Edit to add- My original post on this one is here:

116520 thin case

Even then, I had forewarned that this thing was likely not to last. Still, I was expecting a little longer lifespan than just 3 months...

Clarification for some... Hacking the movement so the watch doesn't run is ok, but you could end up with wear issues with the crown & threads... oh, and improper distribution of lubrication if it sits for long periods like that..

Additionally, simply not running a 'sliding clutch' type chrono, while the watch is running actually increases friction and wear, the opposite of what you might think...

I have one of the first generation with the thiner case after they fixed the subdial rings to be thinner like gen (the first ones had fat ugly rings aroundthe subdials.) This one is still running strong, keeping good time after 5 years or more. Two others with the fat case in two tone work when they want to. Usually run for a couple hours and then stop. This problem happened within a couple weeks of the purchases. I would still like a reliable, thin case two tone version.
