  1. I'm not a graphic designer, but I have a CAD software that I might be able to use to make you a template. If you know the width at the nut it would make it easier to scale the images (to get a 1:1 template). Do you just want a 2D template so that you can cut it out on a jigsaw?
  2. I figured it out and swapped the datewheel, now I just need to get it all back together.
  3. I'm in the middle of trying to replace the white datewheel in my PAM 233 with a black one, but I'm stuck. I've got the dial off, but, to my surprise, the datewheel is buried under another level of components. I don't know how to get this next plate off to get to the datewheel. Can someone please tell me how to get this plate off so I can change the datewheel?
  4. I'm glad the datewheel arrived safely and that you think it looks alright. I checked the alignment as best I could before I mailed it, so I really hope it's is correct, if not, I will be happy to replace it with another one (unfortunately, it's hard to check alignment without installing it into a watch). The shop that made these for me has "thrown in the towel". They say they can't make any more and they're actually shipping me the plates and alignment fixtures. It must be a lot harder to get the alignment correct than I anticipated. So, I guess this batch is the last (unless I have a reason to find a better pad printer). Please let me know how it looks installed. BTW, I hope that this negative period of your life is at it's end and that the POSITIVE period is starting
  5. That seals it! I'm buying myself a crystal press for Christmas so I can send out some crystals for AR. Your watch is beautiful!
  6. Sounds like the guy is a douche and I hope he stays out of your life. I just have to add that I am constantly amazed at the little regard people (invitees) give to the effort that goes into planning a wedding. For gods sake, it's not easy to plan a wedding (making sure the right people are invited, are sat in the right spot, have the right food and drink, etc.). Why can't they just be happy and show up with a friggen smile!?... for one day!! They're getting free food and drink and they still find a reason to be a pain. I agree with the previous post, concentrate on making it a day to remember for YOU and your bride. It's all about YOU and HER (be really selfish that day, you deserve it).
  7. The distance between the center pin and the middle of the date window is approximately .455". I'm measuring through the crystal, so this isn't exact, but it's close.
  8. The answer is #2 (at least on mine). The GMT hand turns in 24 hrs, but it canNOT be set by the crown. I don't, however, know if you can set it by opening the watch (I haven't taken mine apart yet). If you make a datewheel for this, I'd love one!! Why they used the wrong color is beyond me. Just in case you didn't know, the date is changed by pressing the button below the CG (incorrect, but it works well). Ive been getting around 50 hour power reserve out of mine, which, compared to my other reps is pretty good. Let me know if you have other questions, I can send you a video if you'd like.
  9. Thanks, I'm pretty happy with how they turned out (although they could always be better). I sent you a PM.
  10. As some of you may know, I've been trying to make a datewheel for my BCE (http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=82927&hl=). It's turned out to be a much harder project than I had anticipated (I have renewed respect for Lello). Well... after months of dealing with the printer, a package arrived on my doorstep yesterday containing the latest datewheels. Based on past experience, I wasn't expecting much, but to my surprise they look pretty good! First thing this morning I took my BCE apart and installed a new datewheel. The alignment was a bit off, so I tried a different one and it lined up perfectly! So I guess I just have to go through them and pick the good ones (that's going to be tough). Anyway, here's a picture of the datewheel and a video showing the alignment. The printing isn't perfect, but once installed, I can only see the imperfections under magnification.
  11. I did a little comparison that might help: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=74130&hl= Noctilumina is a good product to start with and it's easy to obtain, unfortunately, it's just not that bright.
  12. Check this out, it might help. It's not the same watch, but it's basically the same process (and same movement). http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=37058&hl= I've been trying to get some BCE datewheels made (I've been working on this project for months!). The latest version should be done this week (I hope). If you're interested, PM me next week. I can let you know if they turn out.
  13. I was curious to hear how it went. That's great that you enjoyed it! Pretty soon, you may even enjoy dancing in public because you'll actually know how to dance... which is a really good feeling.
  14. I've been taking lessons, with my new wife, for the last several months (I have another one Wednesday). I, too, was very nervous in the beginning, but, much to my surprise, I actually liked it! The main thing that freaked me out was how overly friendly everyone was. It took me a while to get used to that. My advice: Wear plenty of deodorant, and take a breath mint before going in. It's really not bad at all, I think you'll enjoy it, have fun!!
  15. Welcome (from another SoCal member), you found the right place! Check out the Rolex area (if you haven't already) there's a lot of good information. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=47319 Just a caution, these things are like potato chips... it's almost impossible to stop with just one!
  16. If every time you reset your Chrono it gets further off, I'd suspect that your hand is slipping and that you probably need to do what I previously recommended. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...mp;#entry508530 Having said that, taking it to a watchsmith is a VERY good idea.
  17. Ajoesmith is selling A7750 movements for $110 shipped. http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=40241
  18. I can't say for sure that this is the problem you're having, but it's certainly worth looking at. It definitely turned out to be the issue for my Navitimer. Every time I reset the Chrono, it would stop in a different location. In fact, I could even tap on the side of the watch to get the chrono hand to move (it was really loose). None of my other watches have this problem, so I don't know how common it is.
  19. It depends on exactly what the problem is, but I had a similar problem with my Navitimer and the following thread helped me: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...mp;#entry508530
  20. Use this as a learning experience. You CAN recover from this and once you do, you'll be glad that you have the new knowledge that will enable you to regulate watches (you'll regulate all of your watches).
  21. You're NOT screwed! You can fix this (sometimes an accident is the best way to learn something new). There's an easy and cheap way to regulate your watch. This may be a quick and dirty method, but I've successfully regulated watches to within a few seconds a day. You need a microphone that you can plug into your computer (I've actually used the microphone attached to my skype headset), and software. If you're more industrious, you can buy a cheap microphone and build a microphone pre-amp (see this link: http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=36339). Download this software: http://tokeiyade.michikusa.jp/download/ and regulate your watch. It's really not that hard. The hardest part is being able to get the microphone to hear the 'tick'. PM me if you have questions.
  22. wiseman: Wow, I spent a lot of time in the Oslo SAS (and at the Airport across the street). I have vivid memories of the snow on the concrete... sorry. If it makes you feel any better, we may have beautiful weather in California, but it's friggen expensive to live here (at least where I live)!
  23. My deployment clasp was loose like that. It was a simple fix: Just slightly bend the clasp. Basically what's happening is that the two pieces are too closely aligned, so there's not enough friction between the pieces that snap together. If you bend the clasp slightly, you change the alignment between the two pieces, increasing the friction between them. You don't need to bend it very much, so be careful. I hope that makes sense.
  24. Welcome to the forum. It sounds like you're close to Grass Valley (where I grew up). It's a nice area. This is a great place to learn about watches, you'll like it here.
  25. I wish I could give you a source for a cheap Asian 2836-2. Maybe someone else knows where to get them??
