  1. Don't worry. The tracking from there with that service is seldom accurate or up to date. Andrew has just switched to a better service for that exact reason. Just be patient.
  2. Mine just got sent back to the dealer by customs due to a missing phone number on the address. As soon as they bring summer students in, all the obscure, BS rules get enforced and parcels start to go missing.
  3. In general, yes, but there was a transition period in the late 60s where you may find odd combinations.
  4. Yeah, I know. Mine's been sitting in Customs for 2 days now. They get so lazy when the weather's good.
  5. Looks like all that has to be done is a masking of the crystal and the case and then a squirt with some flat black paint. Let it dry thoroughly then take the paint off the highlights with a brass brush in a Dremel.
  6. All you ned is a gen clasp of that design, not necessarily the PO one. Transfer the inner folding bits to your PO. Much better. I have another Seanaster rep from which I borrowed those pieces. Interestingly, the bracelet number stamped on them is the same as the rep PO. The pieces in question are better on the older rep's bracelet. Gen would be even better.
  7. I have a 4th gen PO with the band off, so I measured with digital calipers at different points on both lugs. The highest number I saw was 19.96mm.
  8. Love the cars, but for the second time in my life, I have to go in for an interview next month due to too many tickets in the last 2 years. The funny part is that by the time I get to the interview, my points will not be high enough to be interviewed any longer. I got 3 tickets 2 years ago on one cross-country ski trip. Curse those reduced speed areas in the middle of nowhere. I had a paralegal contest 2 of them, and just got convicted of the last one a couple of weeks ago. The paralegals didn't accomplish s**t. Perhaps it's time to trade in the AMG. I'm in my 40s, but still love the thrust. What's an old motorhead to do?
  9. You can just look at your bare wrist and pretend you're Nais.
  10. Perfect Clones is Joshua's site. He's one of our trusted dealers. Contact him at the admin@perfect-clones address on the site (I don't remember the exact one, so I won't pretend my reference is a link), but don't buy through the site directly. I don't think he has the site 'live' yet. Just let him know what you want by email. Buy with confidence from him.
  11. I'm wondering if anyone would be so kind as to reiterate the problems discovered with this rep. Unfortunately everything has been edited while I was at work today. I'm dying to know.
  12. The bracelet is just like the gen. Rolex has never been known for their bracelets and clasps.
  13. They're near impossible to find, but a properly done refinished dial is fine. Timeman is quite reputable, unlike most of the dial sellers you may find on Ebay who will post a pic of a genuine dial from the back, but the one you get will have no such markings. The thing you have to watch on a refinished dial is the subdial finish. The originals are cut like a record - one continuous cut giving the impression of concentric circles, whereas the redials are usually flat and smooth in appearance. DW dials give the correct visual impression on the subdials, by the way.
  14. A pic shamelessly stolen from someone on TZ of a gen with leather;
  15. The Rolex buckle can be had on Ebay. Try to find some gen pics first so you can get the correct design. I believe 16mm will do nicely. The trick will be finding a 19mm band. It's a very odd size nowadays. Try this link http://www.watchnetwork.com/watchstraps/index.html
  16. If you read the review that pic comes from, you'll see that it does indeed screw down, even looking like it does, so there's no way to judge the rep until someone actually sees one. Nobody, not even our dealers, has handled one yet.
  17. Thanks. I know where to get some very special commemorative genuine dials for the Navitimer, but I'm not sure what case to use. They're 7750 subdial config, so it should be OK to use the fighters case.
  18. Bytor, I'm curious if you know what years the Serie Special with the fighters on the back was available. Was is only available in one subdial configuration, or both? i.e. 7750 and 7753 movements.
  19. Hehe. I believe I posted those on the old RWG. I'm glad others continue to make use of them! Enjoy!
  20. Even on the gen, you don't see the external threads on the case tube that you see on other watches like Rolex. It appears smooth on the outside with a shoulder at the case end. I don't know where the threads are, as the gen does indeed screw down.
  21. Since all our dealers are going only by photos sent to them from the supplier, I submit that nobody yet knows the true color of the dial on the rep. The gen appears to be one of those colors that shifts considerably with increased exposure on the photo. We need someone to buy the 'white' one and give us a review. It won't be me, as I have the black one coming. If the white one turns out to be an accurate silver, I'll be all over it!
  22. That dial's silver, and has to be the best looking one yet.
  23. You can simply fill in the declaration card on the way out with the serial number on your watch written down. They will simply do a cursory check to see that the one on your wrist matches the card on the way back in. They have no database or anything else to check against.
  24. Incomplete address could mean no phone # if someone in customs decides to be picky. No package going to the US will be accepted at a Canadian post office without a phone # on it, and pre-9/11 I worked at a company in Vancouver that shipped a lot of goods to individuals in the US. If we didn't put the SSN of the recipient on the box (if sent to an individual rather than a business), the entire shipment would be refused at the border. Businesses had their Tax ID # on their packages. I always ensure the dealers here have my phone # on the parcel, and even packages delayed by customs for opening have made it through.
  25. admin, if I spent as much time as you in downtown, I would be driving a Smart also. I live and work in the 905 and frequently go north to visit family. I cover large distances, and I think an AMG Mercedes is a bit better choice for that than a Smart. On my 4km commute to work, I frequently feel like I shoud be riding my bike instead. I have 3 bikes that combined are worth much more than my car. With the onset of the good weather, I will ride one of them instead of driving.
