  1. Most of the watches sold at Cosco can be had at AD's for the price they sell them for. Most of the time, they are the unpopular models such as the Fly's B. I have seen these for 60% of AD's as they never sold well so they are just trying to break even. At least with a AD you will get your warrenty.
  2. New Blackbird??? Are you refering to the Black/blue dial combo or one of the LE's?
  3. Breitling themselves need to go back to the Airwolf as the Chronospace is a step back.
  4. quote name='cougaree' timestamp='1287753981' post='895413'] Does anyone know on the gen SOH or SOHC the crystal is above the outer rim or flush with the outer rim or just under the rim?
  5. Nice Wei! Love my SOHC! Love the retro style of this watch!
  6. Yes the reference is wrong. Trust me, I sat there counting how many wire links are in a single row. The Aero Classic is $50 more, justified by the finer mesh. I thought they were same too until my AD showed the difference between the Aero on a Chrono-matic and the Ocean on my SOHLE.
  7. The Ocean Classic Braclet is not on the Chrono-matic. The Chorno-Matic uses the Aero-classic bracelet. The mess is finer. Authentic watches does not know what they are talking about...I am also shocked they are less then MSRP on this bracelet. Typically they are WAY over priced on straps and bracelets.
  8. Yes I am...my fav. brand is being watered down by poor marketing calls.
  9. Being the B fan that I am, I am tired of Breitlings lame excuse for LE pieces. Change the hand color, dial colors and throw a XXXX/1000 engraving on the case back or DLC every model you have and make it a LE? LE piece should be some thing special...like the new LE Navitimer with B01 movement, or the 125th Anniv. Navitimers and SOHLEs...Chane the dial config, use a unique movement and truely doing some thing special. Give me a reason to spend more $$$ over the non-LE then just some painted hands with matching dial numbers. Enough with the dumb down Limited Edition models already.
  10. Yep, that is what I found funny.....Waiting for the 2010 Remake.
  11. Bremont hired Bear to put the ALT1 through its paces to test its real World durability. Bremont makes some of the hardest cases in the watch industry. He has both a yellow and blue face Emergency.
  12. Don't know about any sites, but saw the movie Red Dawn (1984) the other day in which Patrick Swayze was sporting a Rolex Sub.
  13. Why do you think your RW runs so good after it left me? I removed the caseback and threw it in a sack White Castle for 5 minutes...Removed and installed the caseback! You didn't start to drool when you opened the box?
  14. Love it! Amazing how as technology evolves, the basics are still the foundation!
  15. You would think...but maybe I put the main spring in there as a distraction! Anyone else?
  16. You are servicing a watch not a lawmower! As stated there are 5 different lubricants that go into assembling a 7750 movement...941, 9010 D5, Jisma125 and DX (If you want to go with the ETA recommendation, also this does not include the lubricant for the mainspring and barrel) and they need to be applied in the right amount in all the right areas to properly lubricate and have the watch run correctly. Too little of there lubricants will cause the watch to run poorly
  17. Got the tweezers, so I am halfway there. Glad I am not alone in thinking that touching these can play hell on your nerves. Thanks for the input Z.
  18. New tool for 10/5/10: Been a while, but finally found one in the shop because I needed it! Any guess what tool this may be with the main spring?
  19. That is the Million Dollar question! Did they really tool up or did they just figure they could modify similar parts that are already tooled up to make what was needed here. Minimal investment... Anyway, great review as always Z! Would love to get a lesson in working over a hairspring! Too scared to touch one yet other then a little tweaking to stop it from rubbing the bridge.
  20. Very cool! You can never forget where you come from! Can wait to go back and take a look!
  21. Only when the chrono function is engaged. If the chrono function is not engaged, the oscillating pinion just rotates in its main plate jewel with very little drag on the main gear train. Since it sounds like starting/stopping the chrono does not make the watch run, there is a issue elsewhere. You are right though...the movements are either over oiled or not oiled at all.
