  1. Contact the dealer. If you just got it, he should swap it out for you.
  2. You thinking about a Gen? If you are, just Keep in the back of your mind the massive $$$ you will shell out the Breitling every 2 years for the transmitter testing & battery replacement. Cool watch, but not worth the money unless you require such a tool.
  3. STOP IT MAN! You are making me miss my Vette!
  4. 100% agree! All about the perception. I know plenty of guys that drive some pretty expensive cars or have offshore race boats...and not one of them is actually theirs. They lease them or are in debt up to their eyeballs. Out in Phoenix, they have what is called the $30K/year, Millionaires. These are the guys that make $30K a year but make it look like they make millions. Drive a Ferrari, have a unfurnished 4000sq.ft. house, and buy a $2 cheese burger on a credit card as they don't have 2 pennies to rub together, because they use their paychecks to make their car/house payments. Now the guy the drives a Honda with a Gen PP on his wrist, has the real wealth, but no one knows it. Believe it or not, the most wealthiest people in the US drive a standard Ford Taurus everyday.
  5. Mark, Man...I am so sorry I did not see this before...I do not get down to this area much. Pallet forks are a very finicky part to deal with. If the stone is off just the slightest amount, the movement will fail to run or run properly. It is all about geometry of the PF stone interface to the escarpment. The lock, input pulse, unlock...cycle repeat... needs to be just about perfect on both sides of the fork. If they impulse face is not at the correct angle or does not make square contact to the escape wheel...you get issues. I have spent a good day making PF work on reps. I strictly put in the time to learn...Now if I can not fix the issue in 5-10 minutes I replace the fork. The issue I had above, was the fork was sitting too high, (away from the dial), that when the movement was turned to dial side up, the free play in the fork was just enough that it did not allow from proper engagement into the escape wheel. I ended up having to move the fork further down (towards the dial) on the arbor. This can be easily done with a staking set. Once I did that, all was good. I hope in the last 2 months you have gotten this sorted. PM me next time you want me to follow up on a post all the way down here.
  6. The raised style logo was introduced at the tail end of 2009 for 2010 models. Prior to this, the logo was embossed Not only is the logo raised, but the corners where "squared up as well". The gen also has more curvature to it, that makes it fit much more comfortable to the wrist.
  7. Unfortonatly there was just a massive price hike on all OEM Breitling straps. OR's here in the States used to be $410, I believe it got bumped up to $475...still waiting for my 2011 price list. Agreed you can NOT put a rep OR on a Gen Fish. Just buy a new Gen Ling with a 22mm OR and sell the head...I am looking for a new Ling. Nice Gen by the way. I just took my Blue Fish off the Pro I this morning and put it on a gen blue croco.
  8. That is the issue with YouTube and the web in gerneral...it allows every idiot out there to open his mouth.
  9. I love these new QC pics from the dealers....especially the ones showing the rate. Ask the dealer to send you one of the watch in another position like crown down...and watch the rate fall out the bottom.
  10. +101! Only way to have a SA fly is to have it on the bracelet.
  11. My watchmaker buddy just got a few Bulova Precisionist for sale in his shop...I must say they look great, sweep smooth at butter and are very well priced! I was really impressed on how well the second hand moved across the dial...smoother then even some very high beat (>28.8K) Gens that I have seen. Think I am going to pick on up as a beater watch.
  12. The chrono hand not reseting is not a power reserve issue. It is a mechanical issue. Make sure the chrono is stopped then try the reset pusher. if it does not reset, there is a issue that is not allowing the reset hammer to swing back into place and allow the wheels to reset to zero. This function requires no power from the main spring. As far on setting the date at a certain time...for the most part the posts here are correct. However a lot of the A7750 movements I have serviced lately have a special date drive wheel that allows you to set that date at anytime you wish without damaging the movement. See HERE
  13. Nice score. $720 is the price for a new Croco strap on Deployment...Of course that was last years price, I just found out that they have increased a lot! I find the croco straps tend to be much stiffer and take longer to wear in over the calfskin. I watched that video and threw up on my mouth a little...and diamonds NEVER belong on a mans timepiece! Unless you are going for the true doucher status!
  14. Yes sir...But I see I am going to have the same issue with the GMT as I did with the BO1...Blue dial with white subs or Blue dial with black subs...I still can't make up my freaking mind! They are both so sexy!
  15. I would not waste the money on Gen hands...if they are brand new from Breitling, they are a one shot deal...as you have them installed once and that it is. They do not come off without destroying them or cutting pinions & posts. This is the exact reason Breitling replaces hands on a Gen when it comes in for service.
  16. Held off buying a B01 4 months ago as I was told this was coming out..It will be mine...Oh yes, it will be mine!
  17. You need a jewelers saw or file...I have specific files just for cutting screw heads. Typically I will use my lathe rest as a guid to get it centered and cutting it square.
  18. +100! Put mine on a OR and took it of 20 seconds later!
  19. Looks like Hublot is the sponsor to me... Wonder if this was Prior to Breitling...I would give just about anything to fly that jet back on one jump! Of course I would want to get rid of it at deployment time so I can fly my little race car canopy to the ground and not that nylon overcast he requires to land with that jet pack.
  20. About time...now tey just need to Rep the Red Strike!
  21. Glad I am not the only one thinking this way...
  22. Breitling does sponsor some pretty cool events that fall right in line with aviation...Of course Check out Breitling sponsor Yves Rossy and Geraldine Fasnacht . I do what they do every weekend and where a Breitling while doing it...where is my sponsorship...hell Breitling can put their name all over my gear!
  23. I need to get one of these as I keep drooling over the one on the cover of IW Mag sitting on my coffee table.
