Do a search on the bay for 'omega bezel insert'. You'll find several to choose from for $20 or so. They are easy to install. Good luck, Arty
Will do - thank you

Hello St. Exupery owners,
I have upgrated my model with a double AR crystal and the dial apparently looks very nice that way. However, bad enough, I got a scratch in the case (on the top, you cant see it well on the photo - its just on top of the 12 o clock marker) with the results that you can see a bit of the steel shining through the gold :-(
I have to say that the gold coating is ridiculously bad on this model. Did any of you have similar experiences? I guess the only way is probably to have the case recoated. Not sure where to do that though.
What are your experiences?
Cheers

Hi there,
looking for Dodane/Breguet style type 21 hands
I have screened cousins-uk and OFrei.com but not found something similar. They dont really display most of their hands. Any idea how to do this?

The Zigmeister did recently review a new version of the A7750 with running seconds at 6. Has anybody experience whether these new clones are used in the latest batch of portuguese???
-
I have all the tools and are experienced in removing the movement. I haven removed hands or dial yet but need to start practicing this. May not start with the Aquatimer but another watch yet.
So no springs jumping into my face from the pusker/inner rotating bezel mechanism?
-
I need to open my Aquatimer, as the datewheel got misaligned. Somewhere I have read that (I think it was K2222) when opening the case a spring jumped through the room and was newer found again.
Is it safe to open the watch, remove the movement and re-align the datewheel without damaging the rotating inner bezel mechanism?
Let me know

what to do if you want to change a 28800 asian 7750 with a lug size of 0.20? the eta I have is for 0.25 hands but the hands on the rep obviously are fitted to the 0.20??
I guess most project with new reps will have this issue. Any experience?

Hi there,
excellent article, congrats!!
One question though: I thought the hands lugs of an Asian 7750 are 0.20mm compared to 0.25mm of an ETA 7750. Does this matter???
-
hmm...
almost thought this would be the answer
What is a washer??
If I install a swiss 7750 - if I can - would that help to avoid these issues??

I do agree that the speedmaster reps are not accurate and yes you would need to cover the subdials, the back and the 6 o-clock hand to make it more accurate.
For me though the doomed crystal is one of the very core elements of a speedmaster and it bothers me much more thasn subdials or back.
the cousins link is interesting - I check this out. If somebody has done the crystal replacement already let me know. I will report back once I have found a solution

Hello,
I have a nice speedmaster and are almost happy with you. The known problem with the more recent version is that it has a flat sapphire crystal. The doomed crystal is one of the core elements of every speedmaster and its hard to believe that you guys are all comfortable with the flat crystal. I would really really like to exchange the crystal through a doomed one - either plastic or sapphire or mineral glas, doesnt matter. However, I am completely lost on the ofrei homepage. No idea which crystal to order to mimic the shape of the original. Has anynbody done this or has anybody a suggestion how to?

I have the speedmaster 50th anniversary.

The watch is nice but unfortunately it seems that the factories have stopped to produce ddomed crystals. Does anyone know where to source crystal which fit this size?
