the pearl is an eyesore, but the positioning looks good. Maybe a bezel/pearl swap would be possible. pictures of the clasp might be good too. HE looks a little low. The logo itself also looks a bit off.

well bytor he did say he had two....
very nice watch.

Actually the only real surprise to me about the spacer is that it's brass, I would have thought plastic.
Ken
Yeah actually I looked at Andrew's pictures of the caseback, that's a very high quality spacer compared to the plastic ones we typically see.
-
Although I do agree that the spacer is not a big issue at all, come on TTK, there has to be a politer way of saying that.
That being said, I don't think that this is enough of a concern such that manufactuers will change it. I don't think it affects sales too much.
If it really bugs you, you can ask The Zigmeister or somebody else who works on watches if it's possible to retrofit a spacer.

is it me or does the logo spacing look slightly better on this particular one?
Nice shot!

I have property in downtown Vancouver, if that counts for anything.
Sponsorship Scandal: $250 Million
Gun Registry: $2 Billion
Adrian Clarkson's Trip: $5.3 Million
Losing 40% of your paycheck, paying 15% taxes on everything you buy, and getting nothing: Priceless
Gold buddy, pure gold.

I am one of the 100 or so people from Vancouver, that don't live there anymore.
Had to move. The reps couldn't handle the rain.
LOL....yeah also from Van here, but I still find that funny.
-
nice crown, but what is with the 12 hour markers? they look corroded. As for the crystal swap, I would also be curious if a swap is possible.
-
Looks very nice. Wheres the PO?
Jon
Probably on the wrist .
Nice collection!

Yeah it is but the rotor is modified to look like the original SMP rotor which is actually on a 2892-2 movement. What doesnt look right is the display case back. I could be wrong but I dont think the SMP was ever produced with one. The rep mcompany probably installed one so yoy can show off the look alike rotot but rotor aside, the display back is a dead giveaway.
actually the GMT version is supposed to have the clear caseback.
As for looking like the original rotor, I don't see how this accomplishes that or looks closer to the gen, so why swap out the rotor?

Is this an ETA 2836? The rotor looks a little weird.

Their planet ocean is a really really bad joke. "replicated to every last detail" <-- yeah right
-
Well there's also WU or Wire fees that you need to factor in instead of shipping I guess, so you're looking at about $185 shipped.

here's a question: would a genuine PO dial fit inside andrew's 4th gen 42.5mm? The only thing that really bugs me about it is the logo placement.
-
very nice pictures...would have jumped on this, but the dial still really really bugs me...just a tiny bit up and it would be perfect.
on another note, do you have a lume shot?
-
beautiful pictures. This is the 42.5mm, right? If so the most obvious difference is the dial spacing. Beautiful watch though.

Thanks cwai02! I was busy looking in the Asian movements sections, I guess that's why I missed it.
Cheers.

Any replicas of this? I can only find the chronograph version.

Enter url and change hxxp to http, prevvents referrals.
Thanks in advance.

i think most of your replies are going to be "upgrade to the swiss".
I suspect my SMP GMT is doing this as well, basically what happens is the rotor stops working too if it's an auto, so you open up the caseback and spin it to get the rotor working again, every time you set the time. For me, the asian movement is a learning experience in the different aspects of reps so I know exactly what to get next time.
-
Put my watch on the lawn to do a few practice swings, and decided to take some photos, thought they turned out okay.
-
I have a gen Omega GMT and a rep from Andrew. Almost impossible to tell the difference. Except for the bezel insert coming loose on the rep.
Sorry, just curious, what color dial is your gen GMT? Are you talking about the blue dial version?
-
yeahhhh I actually do like this as well...is this a rep that neil has for sale?
-
No I was actually refering to how you can expect AR on the crystal and the correct engraving on the clasp of a cheap Asian, or even if you had done enough homework to find out what you can expect to get with the watch you ordered.
Ken
Yeah I guess you're right, probably not. When I ordered I was looking at pictures of the swiss version as well, however, and it had the same laser etched clasp, so I was under the impression that it wouldn't matter that much. As for AR on the crystal, I thought all that did was make for less reflection when viewing head on, not the internal reflection issue which is left out of most dealer pictures.
So yeah I guess I probably should have done more research, but I feel okay about this purchase, and lesson learned for next time.
-
if you're referring to the degredation in SMP rep quality, I did know about that, but I just got the asian version as a first rep to test the waters anwyays, so I'm not too bothered.
edit: altough fixing the crystal and clasp, if this can be done cheaply, I will probably do.
I Must Be Out Of My Mind But, Pauls $119 Lv...pretty Good Looking

His "perfect" submariner looks like a better deal as it is right now, since its on sale for 129.
