Go with the plastic bezel Dude. Icing on the cake

Nice, but a very nice HKTAN for around 130-140usd with real croc also will do. At least for me, I am sporting that kind of strap on my modded Portu Chrono.
picts?

Great post/review hats off to you sir. Award winning!!
-
Serious talent there by-tor. How may layers did it take to achieve this
-
Definitely a grail watch, but going to have to spring for a gen on this one. Perhaps the next 'milestone' birthday.
Unless I get distracted by the notion of a boat...or a mistress
Trust me the GEN is cheaper than the mistress in the long run!

Here is my contribution (scuse the pict quality) took some spare parts, a standard 6-9-12 movement and cut off the seconds at 9 stem.Inaccurate function but looks good and the chrono functions just fine.

Words to live by! My Breitling Skyland (fortunately) fell in my lap because of this. It's worth noting that there are various types of LocTite (threadlocker) and they are identified by color. Blue (shown above) is what I would recommend, as it's just about the tightest-locking but still removable. Use red and those screws will NEVER come out, even if you want them to. Blue leaves you the option.

Thats not the way it works. Every single part of that watch would have to be manufactured from scratch. Some parts may look similar to those used on other models, but I can guarantee you that they are not.
Agreed but what i actually meant was the existing case set as well as the movement from the montbrillant legende line could be used. That takes care of the major parts, and leaves only the handset and dial. It can be done. will it be done is the question. Now then that leaves the bracelet, (which i would want anyway) and the GMT complication.
Well we can dream right.
-
Ok gentleman lets cut the crap. this must be replicated !!!!
All the parts are already available. All is needed is to create the dial. Seems like a no brainer to me

I just find that having reps is affordable and gives you the freedom to own many exotic/expensive watches that you can only dream about.
For instance, a gen Hublot may cost you north of $20K and unless you are very rich, you wouldn't be throwing that much money on a gen. How many reps can you buy for $20K? Even if you cost in all the mods etc, say you spend $700 per watch ,you're looking at almost 30 watches to play with.We have many good reps at the $300 mark. You can do the sums.
It's great that for the money I spend I can get something which is very close to the real thing at a fraction of the price of the gen. One of these days I might go gen but for now I'm happy to just indulged in reps. The other thing I can say is that with a rep you don't feel bad if you get tired of it and not wear it.
I have a friend who wears a gen rolex but that is his ONLY watch. So when he's out in casuals he's still wearing that same old rolex though nothing wrong with that but I can match my watch to my clothes a lot better. If I wear casual I can opt for PAM for instance. It's just having more flexibility and more things to admire.

I think the rubber (kevlar) will be my next purchase. thansk for the picts guys
Not gator, and not on a 3717, but I do concur that their straps are excellent!
-
Just pulled the trigger on the dark brown croc. I think i will mount this on my Topgun and not the 3717. I will post pictures when it arrives.

This is a push in crown.
Hi there!
Just a question: is the Portuguese Chrono crown is a screw-in one?
Thank you for your help!
-
Sweet ! you guys have me sold. Especially since i believe they have offerings in the 21mm sizes.
-
This is what I wanted to hear. I will be moving forward with purchase. I also hear Kurt is a good guy to deal with.
sorry, i don't have pictures at the moment, but believe me, these straps
are way better then rep straps. there are decades in between.
some gen owners say, these strap are from the same quality as gen straps.
-
Has anyone purchasd the TWB IWC alligator straps and can comment on the quality, or have photos? i have heard they are no better than rep straps, and on a few of the GEN forums receive high praise. Just wanted to get a better idea of the quality before making the purchase. Picts mounted on a 3717 would be great. Post em if ya got em!

yes i have been tempted by this rep one or twice. the main problem with the rep is it is too chunky overall. The GEN has smooth lines and curves and a little more subdued.
I believe the case size is smaller too.
What do you think of this timemaster. Its a low cost, low quality rep, but it looks like a nice watch for the price.
-
Keep dreaming buddy. I would give my left nut for any decent Chronoswiss rep. But alas this is not very popular brand unfortunately.
Nice watch though. How much is the GEN?

TinEye is a handy way to figure out mystery pics. Not perfect, but better than nothing.
Tiney is also used on another forum some of us are familiar with

Yeah, I think PW sells it. He sells a version that is the V1 upgraded to V3. Its like a V 3.5 for the V1 price
Just what i was looking for thanks !
