  1. In a world where people actually paid 1000 bucks for a functionless "application" for the iPhone that put a picture of a ruby along with the words "I am rich" on your display everything is possible ->

    http://www.luxist.com/2008/08/06/i-am-rich-iphone-app/

This thing actually sold 7 times before Apple pulled it from the appstore. Damn ... I whish it would have stayed ... would have been an easy rep :)

So, now I will have to implement plan B: An "unforgeable" 3D hologram sticker portraying Ueber-spoiled-brat-dumb-[censored] P. Hilton along with the sentence "I am rich and you ain't" for 2000$ a piece which people with just too much money can slap on their cellphones.

  2. Just my two cents. The accusatory tone in pieter931's posting makes me wonder if he could maybe linked to sinowatches in some way ... Cartel ... my ass ... with probably 90% of replica review sites being owned by scammers and tricksters, this place here along with RG, RWI and maybe one or two others is one of the VERY few places where you can get real and unpartisan info. Reading posts like this really ticks me off...

  3. Maybe it is irrelevant but since we are dealing in contraband keeping verifiable details of dealers or modders on file anywhere might be a one stop shop for law enforcement agencies, or am I being paranoid ?

No, but a landline phone number, taken from a communication's provider's bill, and a clear photocopy of official government ID would, or rather, if submitted to Admin, would be at least some reassurance. I don't think dealers/modders should have to go posting their PI on their sales sections, but, if such information were passed onto Admin as part of the application process to have a sales section, it would at least be a step in the right direction, and certainly would be useful for situations like this, or TWP's vanishing act, or when group buys go south. Now, I know forum admins don't want to be seen as endorsing any vender, but, having verifiable ID for a vendor 'on file', would certainly be useful should things go south, as, if it is then serious enough that admins need to step in on member's behalf, at least they are going to be able to do so in a way other than simply emailing the known email. Admins might not want to have to take this kind of intermediary stance, but, as it is their forums being used by vendors and modders, it is only reasonable that they have some manner of, if not 'authority', per se, verifiable ID which could be used to contact someone should the need arise.
  4. How can a company like AP squeeze out something like THIS ?? The "crownguard" looks like the watch has spilled her guts or some fungus growing out of it. Really revolting .. Grahams just make me laugh, Defys and Concords make me wonder, but this one here makes me want to cry.

  5. Where are you located ? If in CONUS, The Zigmeisterzumba would be your man. Changing the "officine panerai" engravings on the movement is not possible. If it is just a sticker you might try to find someone to do such a job. But you would probably be better of trying to find another movement. Can you post some pics of the movement ?

I am looking for someone that can do a superluminova on a Titanium PAM 177 sandwich, and also I like to know if it is possible to change the officine panerai inside the movement for a better one that look more real.

    Thanks

  6. Hi,

I just recently acquired a Graham CF rep which is built around an obviously defunct Miyota OS20 quartz movement. Opened the caseback ... and have been scratching my head since then. Would anybody happen to have an idea on how to remove the winding stem from one of those? I wasn't able to identify anything I could unscrew or push in to release the stem. In the location where I would expect such a screw or opening I found a small protruding pin which seemingly can't be pushed in. I tried with some force but since it is protruding I am hesitant to push any harder because I am afraid I might slip and push the pricker right through the movement and dial if I try any harder. I can deal with mechanical movements ... but this little quartz [censored] is really becoming my personal nemesis. Furthermore even if I manage to remove the winding stem in the end I suppose I have to decouple/detach the pushers somehow before I will be able to take out the movement. So if anyone should be familiar with OS20s, I would appreciate his help.

    Cheers

    Oliver

  7. What told me was just the fit and finish of the movement, the fine engraving on Officine Panerai, it just looks better than any rep

Guess I was just looking in all the wrong places ... sigh.

  8. Wondering if I should even think about wearing my Navitimer rep thru a round of golf. Or will all the hands be floating on top of the dial at the end of the 18th?

I wouldn't be worried about it ... if the hands come loose because of the g-forces involved ... it was a more than crappy rep to start with.

  9. Hi,

I have been pondering the idea of getting one of these for quite some time. Beautiful watch, although I would prefer a sterile version of it. The only thing that kept me from buying such a watch so far is that I am a little concerned about those two issues:

    - I fully trust in our chinese friends to rep/build reliable movements ... as long as they are simple. Since this is not a simple movement I am an little concerned about the reliability

    - And ... if it ever fails on you ... who would be able (and willing) to fix it for you ?

  10. Hi,

I'd like to bring up this topic not (only) because it has been up in the headlines for weeks and probably is going to stay there for a long time, but instead because it has directly affected me and I suppose many of us will suffer the dire consequences of the fly-by-night behaviour of the self proclaimed "Masters of the Universe" in Wall Street and other financial marketplaces in the world. We are heading into a recession maybe as bad as the one that hit the world in the 1930s and no matter if we are employed, business owners or investors: none of us will be left unharmed. I myself have been hit already:

    - About 10K lost that had been invested in Lehman Bros. certifcates -> gone

    - a company I hold a 5 percent share in is going to be insolvent in a matter of weeks if they cannot find another investor because their main investor from the last financing round paid in only 30% of his investment until now and will be unable to come up with the rest. Since the shares only cost me 5K this will be the actual loss if that company goes down the drain. But actually the shares were worth MUCH more by now.

    - My pension fund: Down 30%

    - Order volumes in the company I work for as a managing partner: 30% down in the last 2 months

How about you guys? Has the financial crisis already affected you ? If not, do you think it will ?

    Cheers

    Oliver

  11. My girlfriend was beginning to think I was getting weird since I used not to wear watches and I now have to Rolexes... So I got her this Gucci "Mini G" rep from Andrew. She LOVES my new hobby now!

This watch looks/feels very nice. Even comes with a nice box.

I bought one of those years ago in China and gave it to my mother as a present. It has been on her wrist ever since. A real nice watch for the ladies.

    Olly

  12. LOL. If the watch doesn't say Hamilton then it's not a rep.

Well ... let's call it an "Hommage" then :) I actually love the series and do not particularly care about the flatchested cheerleader. Well at least those boobs look real :)

  13. Hey thanks for the heads up. I'm very sorry about what happened to you. Royal Mail is indeed like US Mail in the UK... I can completely understand how you fell for it... Hope you can find the people responsible and recover your money.

Sorry to say ... but there is no realistic chance to catch them. Those guys are very well organised. I talked to someone in the fraud department of our state police when someone tried to pull of a similar scheme on me related to a used car. The chance those guys will get caught is almost zero... sad but true. And unfortunately WU is not really taking any measures to prevent such things from happening.

  14. Hi,

in Romania and in other countries you can buy credible fake ID for small money. They use this ID to pick up the money from a WU office. This scheme is widely used in selling not existing used cars (at least here in Germany).
