  1. Aha, I remember your mod post now. Confusion cleared up thanks.
  2. Nice! What was the turnaround and cost in the end? Did you take in personally? BTW, your 187 is from Ken right? That fat datewheel font is unmistakeable (sigh...)
  3. Looks like you have a 16750, NOT a 1675 @ciborgman - that 1675 from Andy (timeman) is a nice early model with pointy CGs. Personally, I'd recommend asking round local reputable vintage dealers, I've often seen 1675s - not saying it's a risk buying off TZ, just that nothing beats appraising a watch in person - apart from the 'feel', you can take a loupe and have a good close look at the dial. Good luck!
  4. Jos' example has a white datewheel, picture posted is genuine
  5. OMFG I've been praying for this for a while now - combines my love (and ownership ) of two favourites brands. Oh it's tempting but if only the datewheel was black, the crown I can overlook but not the datewheel
  6. Sorry to be grouchy but for god's sake!!! Quarks posted an almost identical thread HERE...about six weeks ago Anyway, my POV hasn't changed... Not my cup of tea at all sorry :yucky: Like the inbred bastard love-child of a 212 and 192
  7. Sorry but that's not true, maybe for some maybe not for others. Don't take this the wrong way Linder, but I think whoever you're dealing with can see you coming...a mile off. Sure the euro is strong compared with the wimpy dollar, but if I'm brutally honest, I think your demands etc. convey a certain naivety that stands out, hence the high price. Sometimes playing hard to get instead of eager beaver can serve you well transaction-wise. I do believe your intentions are good in wanting to source these for others, albeit a little misplaced perhaps. I hope you prove me wrong, and that when the "floodgates open" as you say, it's not in the negative flaming sense, you are sticking your neck out in a big way if you proceed with this, and I cannot see what your motivation would be, I mean it's not as if you'll make much money, is it? Overboosted has a good point here.
  8. Hefty price tag too Still not out in EU yet anyway (ok then UK and Italy, actually London and Roma)
  9. Really? You can't? Wouldn't have guessed Have beer and chill, good things come to those who wait
  10. I've watched this from the sidelines until now but thought I'd share a thought or two... Firstly, I was approached by Linder only last night asking whether I'd broker this "MBW for the masses" whole shebang. I politely declined of course Now it seems, 12 hours later the whole shebang has come together and gosh, a new dealer's section is opening soon. Now I'm not doubting Linder's enthusiasm or intentions (nickel allergy? go gen or buy a Ti watch), just that this whole thing seems a little out of kilter to me, not dodgy, just strange. $500??? Customer service??? Direct factory contact? Endless supply of MBWs??? As Ubi said earlier, MBWs are available to some, just very hard to source - small circle of 'collectors' or 'friends' - always been the policy and I don't see why they (maria, george etc.) would change it now? Doesn't make sense. Also, IMO only the vintage pieces (1680, 1665, etc.) are worth their salt so to speak. Personally, if I wanted an off-the-peg modern Sub or SD of the best quality, I'd just speak to Eddie
  11. Yes, it's all going off in the Middle East again ... Bush is being an [censored] over stem cell research ... and I'm off to THE Open this weekend - FORE!!!!!! Oh sorry, you mean about the 7753?
  12. Thanks for the comparison pics! Hour hand length doesn't bother me...a black datewheel, correct markers on the subdials (c'mon guys how difficult is that? ) and a black bezel-pusher configuration with this orange-markered dial and I wouldn't think twice The black rubbery/leather deployant strap with orange stitiching would be a bonus
  13. The hunt is on!!! 100,000 JPY = >850 USD = 680 EUR Jeez, that's a lot of moolah for a rep, 7753 or not. For that price I would pray it has the correct datefont (unlike the 196/188s) and no other visible flaws. Me, I'll leave this big game to you fellas, got a couple of rare vintage beasts in my sights
  14. That link is the main site, not product-specific - what is it actually called? Versatile? Miracle Foam? Thanks for info - not sure about putting entire watch in chemical bath, proofed or not, deserves a 'Nanuq Award' I think
  15. Not sure of product, but chlorine-free suggests that sodium carbonate is the active ingredient (*edit* subzero now confirmed it) "Why are you suddenly so interested in the cleaning products?" my girlfriend will ask suspiciously in the supermarket next time...I can hear her now
  16. I absolutely love it Great concept and execution (apart from the tachy markings, hmmm, must be a way round that ) Now like Clive has ever so subtly hinted.... WE WANT EXACT DETAILS!!! Exact product, mixture ratio of water:product, duration of bath, temperature etc.
  17. Sorry can't wait Instead, how about I tell you NOW? Some of the dealers' are claiming "light AR" - and technically I suppose they are not lying - at a very acute angle, you can see a faint lilac coating to the crystal, very slight but there nonetheless. Unfortunately it is so "light" that for practical purposes (i.e. AR properties) it may as well be non-existant. Proper AR (MGF2 coating) is what Ken's version and some of my older PAMs came with - and what FinePics and others can offer if it's really a big deal to you.
  18. Are you Wayne Rooney in disguise? (hint: click here!)
  19. Buy the one you like best p.s. your avatar is making me sick
  20. There's a good reason for this if you read my linked post Oh alright then, I'll save you the trouble... "So, in case you didn't know already, the PO chronos will be out late Aug/early Sept (prob later than the reps ), housing a calibre 3313 movement and will retail for £3000 (compared to the £1850 of the regular POs)."
  21. Quite! :o The 'love' that dare not speak it's name on this forum...forshame on you r11co, forshame! (course, I completely agree with you )
  22. Know what you mean Bazz, I have found though that my bezel has 'settled down' with use; i.e. it's not as loose and while not aligned perfectly at 12, it will happily sit there 'mid-click' so to speak. I had a minor problem with my pearl (marred, chipped?) and Ed has said he will send new bezel so I may try bezel swap and spring mod anyway - will keep you posted *edit for typos*
