  1. Interesting how some of them wear their pammies on their right wrist, probably not lefties just more comfortable re. crownguard - assume the Charlize Theron pic has been flipped as wearing a Destro model on the right wrist is a bit pointless . As for Heidi though p.s. that pic of Beckham is about 4 years old - I believe he wears only FMs or Jacob's these days
  2. Yep, both the genuine SS and SS/Ti bracelets taper towards the clasp - it's slight but noticeable.
  3. Couldn't agree more @purspeed, he's not being harsh, just being frank and open in that Italian-Scottish way of his Insert are cheap, get a couple and have several tries at milling/sanding etc. to fit the bezel. As the man said, there are members here who will be happy to help out with advice if things go [censored] up, so just relax and go for it. Job done, what you will also get is an enormous sense of self-satisfaction, which then gives you the confidence to attempt other mods, and go on from there...
  4. Damn, all flaws aside, the AR coating is the THE dealmaker for me (or breaker in this case). What is it with lack of ARs these days??? I remember getting my first 036 back in the day, and marvelling at the lovely purply-blue hue the AR crystal gave off.
  5. Nope Yes (albeit more 'badly engineered' than 'fantasy')
  6. That said, the Argies do look very tasty (my pre-tournament tip with Spain) With Riquelme pulling the strings just as he does for Villareal (take note Eriksson re. Gerrard) and Messi finding his fitness after a long layoff injured, they will go far no doubt maybe all the way. I loved the constant camera on Maradona every time they scored, good to see him looking fit and healthy in that 86 shirt, with his daughter hugging him (I think it was his daughter, but if not, you dirty old dog Diego ). Best of all though was that once again he was wearing bilateral Rollies, hard to tell from this pic but footage showed what look like leather-strapped WG Daytonas, possibly 116519s - same as the ones supposedly snatched by Italian authorities recently, hmmm, maybe he IS a board member after all
  7. What 'defence'??? 4 of the 6 were gifted, handed on a plate etc.
  8. Well do ya Neil??? Hmm, do I get the black 45 PO on rubber (ETA, natch) or wait for the equivalent chrono models to surface ?
  9. AFAIK... The dimple-dial model is the new updated model - available in black and white. Dealers are selling the older model - no dimples, black only.
  10. Stop reading my mind FP except I would say 'never trust a negative, uninspiring, tactically-useless, money-grabbing, secretary-shagging Swede' The only thing bothering me is that we actually won in the end, so the same old excuses come out and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING changes and the denial and delusion continues. I mean, surely there's something VERY wrong when England can't get it up performance-wise against a side like TNT. Psychology, tactics, (lack of) leadership, whatever, it does not bode well... @Chronus even if you credit Barmby where none due Will be interesting though to see if Spain can build on their last performance - I'm betting they will, they were THAT impressive.
  11. Yeah that's right, a bit like you then getting away (for now at least) with those sick comments about Auschwitz in the Germany-Poland thread here
  12. Drat, I've been rumbled And there was me being all 'secret squirrel' with my avatar
  13. You know, I think I've long gone past caring The decider was seeing my 'second' team (now promoted to 'first' obviously) Spain just go about their business yesterday with no local media fuss and tear Schevchenko's Ukraine apart fairly ruthlessly and playing some great football in the process. Kudos to Xabi, Luis et al. I wonder what the England boys made of that? A mixture of jealousy and embarrassment probably...
  14. Hmmm, I forgot rep SS is 316L which you're right DOES contain relatively high trace nickel in composition. However, gen rollies use 440-grade SS (more carbon) which has zero trace nickel. So there's the answer, just spend a couple of grand extra for those hot sticky summer months
  15. That's a SS model by the way, the Ti one has a metal bezel and a little more on the price tag. There IS something about those red subdial needles though, hmmm, this or the PO chrono? decisions decisions.....
  16. Never ever heard of this problem before - sort of perennial SS-induced dermatitis? Like titanium, stainless steel is non-allergenic, note the 'non' as opposed to 'hypo' (as in low). Hence one of the reasons piercings not to mention surgical instruments are made from the stuff. There are people who are allergic to SS, admittedly, but this is a chronic allergic response (think nickel or perfume rather than peanuts), not 'heat-induced' in any way. How strange, maybe I'll write a paper on you guys for the BMJ/NEJM
  17. Why all the fuss??? Official or not, who cares, I think its pretty much established now that he'll wear both. Personally, I have always loved the 45 black PO on rubber and I really hope it is not marketed as THE NEW Bond watch, not being snobby just don't want to see every Tom [censored] and Harriet with one strapped to their wrists.... I can just see the marketing boys at Omega now, just rubbing their hands with lasvicious glee.....ker-ching! p.s. love the new avatar Neil, Windsor Davies 'lovely boy!' , classic
  18. Now I don't much about Polish football (apart from the wonder player that was Zbigniew Boniek @ Juve), but I know this... Any coach who felt it right and appropriate to leave Jerzy Dudek out of the national squad, is obviously not all right 'up there' (in the head). I'm willing to bet his tactics against Ecuador weren't too [censored]-hot either....
  19. I dunno, you egg-chasers and your funny ways Congrats to Australia, enjoy it you fellas - pray Brazil don't bring you down to earth with a large bump ouch!. p.s. I am glad to take back earlier comments about the Czechs' 'golden age' being over - the old geezers are clearly up for it one last time before they sign up for their pensions, just hope they don't peak too early. Oh and for all you Gunners wetting your pre-school pants at the thought of Rosicky next season, I have one thing to say to you....Milan Baros, golden boot @ Euro 2004
  20. How long's it been? Andy's usually pretty good (if a little steep on some of his parts). The wait will be worth it I promise, ain't nothing like having some 'domeness' in your life
  21. Don't think it's PC to include other lesser nations - although I agree Europe is under-represented unfairly. Let's take Australia for example, have never made to a WC before this year because despite always winning their Oceania group they as always had to play-off against one of the (stronger) losing South American sides. However, this time they did it and beat Uruguay. Now they're there.....1-0 down v a superior (on paper) Japan with 5 mins left.....yet 3-1 winners up at full time! Got to respect that they never gave up (learnt that from Harry K and his club experience ) and pulled off a great result that will make others sit up and take notice.....unlike England. But then they also have a great coach in Hiddink....
  22. as I said it's I know where you're coming from.....just we have polar opposite interpretations of certain facts, let's just leave it that Win or lose, I just want to see some good football played p.s. is it just me, or does it never seem quite like the World Cup's officially started until Brazil are in town???
  23. I sense there's going to be a little disagreement here For starters, that would be the same Lampard who has Champions League and FA Cup winners medals, would it? Not to mention PFA award voted by his fellow players (rather than dodgy political FIFA 'ratings'). Pele thinks Gerrard is the best player in the world, and as an independent judge (which obviously I am not) that's good enough for me - I mean, he has a little more experience and intelligence than old Goofy (love the avatar thomasng!) Are you calling me insane then ? Eriksson is NOT a top coach for a start not even an average one. Lampard, whilst quality on his day, is simply lazy - can't play defensively, he doesn't track back and help out, doesn't have the work ethic, not his fault just that is how he plays for Chelsea where he has Makalele to do his dirty work. However, he does not have the ability to really dominate and command a game from the front like Gerrard does, especially when the chips are down, and it is THAT quality alone that England will need in the coming weeks if they are to be successful. Right now, the tactics are geared to accomodate both in the team but its not working together, one has to go, yes it's a tough decision but there's a lot of denial going around - simply put, the team needs to be greater than the sum of the parts. Couldn't agree with you more there - a sick joke at that, WTF Sven was thinking to pick him (for others here, he's a 17 year old who the coach has never actually seen play and has not even played a single match in the Premiership ). Still having picked him, he's now actually scared to play him (rightly so, but then why bloody pick him? ). Poor poor Jermaine Defoe a great season and he loses out to two crocks and a schoolboy... That's it now, sorry for going on, just annoyed at the whole thing . Actually Chris, there IS one simple explanation why England won't win the WC - it is because those old farts at the FA didn't have the balls on numerous occasions to do what had to be done and sack that useless Swede. And to think, Real Madrid think he's the answer to their problems, haha!!!!!
