Funny, I get the crown imagery, but personally I see it as less regal and due to it's heft I like to think of it as the Ray Winstone of vintage tool Rollies (Ray would probably get the part if Pixar made a animation about watches, yeah I know....unlikely )
Just imagine putting it next to the Sub, say a 5513 or even a 1680 and you can hear it speak in a gravelly voice "yeah, who's the Daddy NOW?"
My father was a fine art dealer but he had a private passion for watches and clocks - I remember him bringing me home a '74 Omega Speedy when I was a wee boy, telling me it had been worn by an astronaut and that was me hooked for life
Interesting Tag Heuer offering from Neil once again...
Imagine when people comment on this adorning your wrist, just think how impressed they'll be when you nonchantly reply "it won this year's Grand Prix d'Hologerie de Geneve, don't you know?"
Of course, they'll mutter "[censored]" under their breath, but hey that's just jealousy talking
*note to self....go with your first instincts Doc*
Congrats L&T, wear it well - although I'm slightly wistful and envious, at least I know it was the same one and that there's not lots of these flying around.
Almost forgot, from whence the new movt? PM if you want
Damn, I wish I hadn't passed on the opp to pick up a TW best 16710 what a couple of years back now. Hindsight is a [censored] sometimes
That's going to be quite the GMT
Where did you source the new correct stack 'bastardized 2836' movt BTW?
Some of us can Randy, please don't feel you have to post weekly non-updates just because of a few 'me want NOW' posters.
Patience is a virtue and all that....
Were you asleep? He posted them in another thread to avoid the noob frenzy
All 50 now sold, sorry
.....ok, I lied but why ask a fairly rhetorical question?
I know how you feel, I always thought of (my ex-neighbour ) Clive as the perfect Bond, great actor, loved his bit part assassin in Bourne, gave the same cold, hard but vulnerable approach that was tailor made for 007.
However, I have to agree with r11co, Craig has stamped his authority on the role so comprehensively that I actually can't now imagine any other actor doing an equivalent never mind better job. 100% convert.
I don't need a wheel this time but I'm sure the vultures will descend very quickly....
Regardless, let me say a very warm welcome back Leonello
p.s. in case you missed it, Italy won the World Cup
Puggy, I have one or two going spare too - don't want you mangling another now do we and torturing yourself with more pics of your dear departed 16610
BTW when are you leaving Paris? My GF's sister also had enough of Paris life (the beauracracy, the dirt noise etc.) after 3 years and moving back at Xmas. GF is distraught at the all those 'shopping weekends' she will now miss.
Still, I wish now I'd made the time to meet up with you and Ry in the summer when I was in town for a few weeks
