If it goes back in the window at the sale price, don't go to consumer affairs, go the Police fraud squad. This is illegal in the US and they can go to jail for it. The first time could have been a honest error, but the second time it's clearly a scam.

I agree - another guy at my office has a gen Daytona and I have a Gen Sub, and the GT tanks them both. Makes them look like cheap toys.

Another thought - One of the reasons the rep hobby is allowed to exist is the popular concept that all reps are crap and rep dealers are just scam artists looking to rip you off. So in many ways these scammers provide a valuable smoke screen for us, reinforcing the idea that there are no real reliable rep dealers and as such, no serious rep hobby. The scammers and crap dealers do us a valuable service, as only the lucky few know the quality sources and as such pose little threat to the big watch corps. If everyone knew, rep sales would skyrocket - Rolex, Omega, Hublot and the lot would be humiliated and would pressure China to shut down the rep factories. China's legit watch business is now well established, so killing off the reps wouldn't cost the Chinese much at all. So - rather than try to run them out of business, you might be wise to promote them, as the more people who get ripped off by them the safer we are

I don't think you're paying for the engine, you're paying for the 1000m rating. Josh probably expects to eat a few of these when people actually get them wet so he's built the cost of replacements into the price.

Yes, there are lots of sites that sell rep boxes these days, but like the reps themselves some are better than others and some don't resemble the original at all. My question is, how does one find out what the correct box looks like? You can always go to the manufacturer's site to find pics of teh gen watch, but they rarely show you the box or the papers that are supposed to come with it - Does anybody run a gallery of box pics? Are there watch box collectors with a collector's guide?

Is anyone making a full gold version of the Bentley GT? I've only found steel and TT models. They do the Big Date in FG, but 49mm is just too big.

Date position rarely causes a problem, it's the location of the subdials, esp the running seconds dial, that causes problems. Also, the gen image is retouched (probably in Photoshop), the rep is a regular photo. You wouldn't expect the colors to match even if it was the same watch.

It's not very wise to shake a mad cow, either -they don't like it and they can be very dangerous.
