  1. Hi there qould anyone know where i can get hold of a A7750 28800bph movement?

I think my smp chrono has died a death.

The crown has come out of it and no amount of fiddling will put it back in.

Before it fell out the date wouldnt swap over on certain dates.

I dont want to go t the expense of changing out to an ETA movement just want a straight swap to another asian.

    Anyone help?

    Regards Andy

  2. Anyone know the technical specifications of the AR coating they propose to use?

It would be useful to see how it compares to the top of the range coating that chieftang uses.

This is the coating the guy recommended for the job of coating watch crystals

    coating.jpg

Dont really understand the numbers or graphs though.

  3. The price i was quoted is for non coated items, but they did say they can remove an old coating at extra charge.

The single is for one side and the double for both sides.

The coating they use has a hard protective coat over it to withstand damage, dont know how strong the coating is but he said it is hard enough for binoculars/telescopes and glasses,so it must be quite resilient.

As for removal of the crystals,i remember a new member coming on th eboard recently who is a qualified watchsmith, worth finding him and see if we can cut a deal/possibley get some mod work done at the same time.

I think his name was something like watchsmithman????

  4. I am going away until the 2 of january so i cant do anything till then.

As for taking the crystals out,i have no problems doing the actual legwork but i am afraid i dont want to get involved with the risk of getting crystals removed from watches.

The crystal does need to be out of the watch for it to be coated.

I am getting mine removed by a local wtachsmith.

But i agree a group batch is th eway to go,i can get it far cheaper i reckon,my quote was just to get 2-3 of my own watches done.

I cant see a problem with sending one from belguim.

  5. Hi all

My omega seamaster chrono has started to play up.The date will not change on the dates...30,31,1,2. All the other dates work perfectly,i can change all dates perfectly via the quick set,but it will not change the mentioned dates on the 12 oclock change.

I have used the search and found various faults(Jumper spring, bent datewhells and the quick change gearwhhel riding high over the wheel) But none of these faults seem to explain mine.

I have looked at the eta website and from my investigations into the movement,i can only imagine that i have damaged teeth on my datewheel around the number six position.

Can the movement experts chime in and tell me if i am on the right track with this?

If so i am going to order an eta datewheel and do the changeover myself.

If i mess it up,i have only lost a broken watch(plus it gives me an excuse to buy a gen eta 7750 to replace it with :D )

    Many thanks in advance.

    Andy

  6. Don't buy your watches from drop shippers?

I also suggest PreciousTime, one of the best dealers we have ^_^

I second that of all the watches bought from PT had only one fault and they went out of there way to sort it for me.

All the watches have had no cosmetic or damage when received.

PT is number one in the eu!! :1a:

  7. Here's a picture of the pearl on the bezel I got. Hopefully the new one the guy sends me will be more accurate. This looks awful. Not only is the pearl too big and not positioned correctly, it is white and doesn't even glow. It looks like a drop of milk.

    DSC02669.jpg

That looks really bad version,my original was better than that one.

I hope you get the same one as me,you will not be dissapointed if you do.

  8. Imranbecks,

Did you get your bezel? If so, how was it? I just got mine from the ebay seller and the pearl is way too big and at the bottom of the triangle. Nothing like what was shown in the ebay photo.

    I'm sending it back.

Have i just struck lucky with mine?

I hope not because i have just ordered one for my chrono smp.

The one i have for my smp is really stunning, the pictures do not do it justice.

I would push for a good one as i know he has them(mine is the proof for that)

  9. brother....where is the seconds hand?

    nice insert btw

I took it off as i found i didnt use it.

No the watch was running and it is a long exposure picture.

It is there i can assure you.

I can see what you mean about the 40 but it is a minute side by side detail,i think the colour is the biggest tell.

  10. S13 is fantastic car. It's very light, and one of the best for drifting. I installed 10" wide front wheels, 12" wide rear wheels, carbon fiber hood, and all body kit is fiberglass, so, now the weight is 2400lb. With Corvette engine and twin turbo it will be a real beast.

I make all designs for body kits by myself, and I have a friend, who work with fiberglass, so, he made all my body kits.

The G35 is a cool car did you fit the G35's bodykit? Is this your actual G35?If so what is the name of the kit manufacturer?

Or did your friend make the bodykit for this one too?

  11. Used to drive F355, sold, too expensive beotch... But it was a fun, that I'll remember to the rest of my life... or til I'll buy F430.

Now - Infiniti G35. Decent car, especially with big Garrett turbo, good drifter, not too big, I'm OK with it. And still working on my project- Nissan 240SX LE (nickname "Fury") with Corvette engine, twin turbo, handmade body kit, yellow/black suede interior (will be done soon.

Expect to get 600 hp, with 620lb torque. At least my technician promised it.

Hi there the nissan should be a good un.

The S13 is a well respected drift car over here, people are getting insane amounts of power from them.

Is the G35 your actual car?Looks real nice. What bodykit do you have fitted?

  12. The new Mini's all have turbos instead of superchargers now. They have a full factory kit now but when I did mine in November last year I had to go all custom and had the spoolers all reworked, exhaust, etc. I have a freind with a bottle in his and now I want one - as long as I'm driving straight. I can't imagine bottle boost and steering at the same time. The car is fun to drive though not as go-cart-ish as the first generation BMW Mini's with the superchargers. But they don't sound like a sewing machine anymore which may be good. I always liked the whine of chargers myself, but I know many don't.

So the build was done on the Mk2 mini, the one i have is a mk1 so major money to convert with this kit.

I have tried the smaller pulleys but they seems to put the car under a lot of stress when giving it some, not a nice feeling.

I have seena BBr turbo kit but it runs at about

  13. This one because it is the ultimate runabout for around town. I decked it with all the Cooper Works stuff and I can get 60 in five and a half now. The torque steer is the only thing that sucks and the twin turbos really accentuate it, but the fun factor is so high that you hardly notice. Turns more heads that any other car I have had or still have for a fraction of what I paid for all of those. Go figure...

    Mini1.jpg

This one because I like to go really, really, really fast sometimes. Pulls like a psychotic rhino after a night of meth smoking. 2nd gear is a Mutha. This one is an 996. Can you tell I like black cars with cross spokes? LOL. I'm thinking I should get an 09' 997 as it is the last year for a while for the 997 Turbo as the redesign is next after a brief wait. But then I hear orders are not getting estimates for delivery until June. I'm happy now but thinking of doing it despite it all as I have never had a chance to get exactly what I want in a sports car as I always get them used. Maybe I'll pull the trigger - we shall see, but with the Mini love I hardly think to drive the 996, and maybe I should wait and see what the redesign is like instead. But in any case, I'll always have a soft spot for Turbo's till the day I die...

    Turbocross.jpg

What turbo kit did you have fitted to your Mini?I quite fancy ditching the supercharger from the cooper s works kit and fitting turbos.Knocks a second from the 0-60 time too, seems a good improvememt over the works S 6.5 to 60 time.

    Nice Porker by the way.

  14. I am into the old mercedes ina big way.I own an independent mercedes specialists so i buy the old mercs i like and restore them,i am currently working on a lot of different projects but the ones i have finished and drive regularly are a 190e custom build utilising Amg running gear and suspensionIMG_0950.jpg

    A 190e 2.5-16v 009.jpg

    and a 230ce ce.jpg.

Here is a pic of my unfinished next project, about halfway through this one DSC00081.jpg

  15. What size bezel did you get? Was it the 41mm?

I got the 41mm one and it needed no sanding to fit it,it does press on and holds well but i used glue as well as i didnt want to lose it as it is such a good version.

The hardest part was getting the old one off, needed to remove the whole bezel in the end, bent it slightly getting it off but it is now straight snd works fine.

Only tip i can give you is to glue the back of the pearl as it comes out forward not backwards as the rep inserts. In theory it could fall out forwards if it is knocked but saying that it was secured quite well, just overkill and futureproofing really.

  16. So after a wild weekend in atlantic city for a bachelor party, I noticed the pearl on my smp was gone. :(

Where can I get either a new pearl or a new bezel with a pearl?

Hi mate look in the general discussion for my post about the insert i have just bought for mine, really good quality and a great price, there is a link to the seller in the post.

  17. Been quietly collecting a few watches and am now finally happy i have everything i want(for now :D ).

A few big names and a few consumer watches,i like everything here especially the Skagen(sits just right and is a good looking understated watch),I have had the Accurist for years, bought for me as a birthday present and my first real watch.

Hope you like my small collection.
