  1. Safe journey. Say high to Mrs pugwash. Sorry she was not here for dinner. By the way, 'I am pulling the trigger' for the SF - whilte one. Usil
  2. Neil, I just saw your description of the Ferrari branded watch designed by Panerai and marveled at the level of detail. It was a pleasure to read and so much what we would like to be the standard. It is obvious that you are a collector above everything else and appreciate the high quality reps like we do. Thanks for raising the bar for product descriptions. Usil
  3. The admins of RWG simply list what dealers expectations must be on all listings, private, public or from web sites. Give them 30 days to clean up the terminology in there adds, no matter what the source, and then issue suspensions to the board to any and all not following the written plan at the end of 30 days. Clear consise requirements, a time period to comply and that is it. Once gone they will have to petition to get back on. Usil
  4. One of the reasons that I chose the Fugi S3 pro as my digital SLR is that it can produce an image with a 400% increase in dynamic range over normal digital SLR cameras. So, here is something for those that want to experiment with increased depth-of-field. Try this out with any camera. Read the web page for details. Increasing Depth-of-Field in closeups Usil
  5. Welcome to the group. Stick around a while, read lots of threads and get a feel for what is going on. Hold on to your bilfold. Usil
  6. I, for one, appreciate Trusty's interaction in the discussion but the statement above, I think, is a central theme that most are concerned about. I have no doubt that it is getting more difficult to do business and that this can effect price. We just want an even keel on watch and movement descriptions. We just want to know what we are buying. We will still buy. Usil
  7. 'Openness' is what we need. If we are proceeding on false assumptions or incomplete information then now is the time for the dealers to set the record straight. If there is truth to these allegations then now is the opportunity to step up - apologise and work at re-establishing a good relationship within the group - WHICH IS WHAT ALL OF US WANT. Is it asking too much to buy accurately described reps at a reasonable price? Usil
  8. Nitpick? - Looks crooked to me and it would bug me. Usil
  9. While Pugwash started the original 'white lies...' thread he is no way alone in his concerns. This is a major concern for all members within this community, where we have come to enjoy some friendship and comeradery. If we are being taken advantage of then this is simply wrong, no matter who is doing it. We would not tolerate this from a non dealer member and we would welcome an open discussion from the dealers. I think most of us want to continue doing business with those called into question but we just want it to be an honest relationship. If there are errors of judgement let's talk of them openly and set the record straight so we can all clear the air and get back to doing what we love to do. Usil
  10. I bought the 'lite' version and it came with 4 quality issues. 1) pearl like you described, 2) crown did not screw in, 3) He valvel spun around like a top and 4) it just did not run (stopped while I wore it). Sent it in to Trusty and he just emailed me it is on the way back. I hope that the issues are gone but we will see. Usil
  11. Reg, that is just so wrong. It may be a gen, I would not know, but it hurts my eyes. Usil
  12. Maybe a new picture with more light would help us evaluate. Usil
  13. This is just uncalled for, Trusty. I hope you find the person responcible for this. This just makes it difficult for everyone. This is supposed to be a fun hobby. Usil
  14. Yes you do. With as many known quality issues on this model showing up regularly on the forum, the dealers have an obligation to make sure this does not happen. They simply have to become involved in these issues and expend a little more effort to make sure shipments are for good watches only. If they force you to have to send this back based on known issues - that is insane. They are members of this community and they need to ack like it. We are all not just customers, we are friends shairing a common hobby. We all need to act the part. Usill
  15. It must have been the reflection off an iceburg. Usil
  16. You too can become Private Eye. Drivers License Usil
  17. 3 years ago, one of my sons did a season on a tuna boat near Alaska. He is now a 1st mate on a boat servicing oil rigs in the gulf. No way he wants to go back to the tuna boat but it was a start in his career. Wants to be a captain one of these days. Usil
  18. Nikon F100 - an amateur camera - I don't think so. Thom Hogan: While passed on by in the digital revolution it was a fine film camera used by many professionals. Usil
  19. The second hand just looks wrong. It is off balence to the rest of the watch. Usil
  20. A family hobbie. I think this is great. You have made a real connection to your son that will live for a long time. When he is older, he will have these memories of his Dad and the special time they had together. Usil
  21. Welcome to the group. You are going to like this place. Usil
  22. As Spock would say - Fascinating. Usil
