  1. There is no 'open in new window' option if you right click on a desktop web link, only 'open' or 'open in same window'. If you are clicking on a link that is listed in an open window, then you get the option of opening it in a new window. My problem remains, how do you set up or insure you always open a new window from clicking on any web link? Usil
  2. I may be missing something terribly simple here but I have a question on opening web links. Sometimes when I click on a web link a separate, new window opens. Sometimes it opens and replaces an existing window already displayed. Why one happens and not the other - I have no idea. I want all links I click on to open into a new window. I want this to be able to review side by side or to continue to listen to music or a video from one link or what ever. Is there a setting I am missing that does this? Thanks, Usil
  3. Any one want to drink a few beers next weekend at Cafe Select? Any new watches to show? I got an XL Omega Rail Master recently to show. 49+ mm and over 50 mm with the crown - keeps perfect time. Also, I bet everyone wants to see my sticky-balls. Usil
  4. Would Gun-Blue work? Heat the metal and immerse? Usil
  5. May or may not work. Depends if you can get the pearl off in this manner. They are delicate and I tried to get one off once and destroyed it in the process. However, I did fix it by making a new pearl using some clear 2-step plastic and some hobby 'glow-stuff'. It worked out well and I may do it again if I ever get some correct lume. Usil
  6. That is discouraging. I have a Green sub and it is a nice looking watch there is no doubt about that but I have not worn it 2 times in the past year. It has the absolute nicest feel when I turn the crown, give it a few winds and set the time. Better than any other watch I have. Yet, there it sets. Glad to know that it can take a licking and keeps on ticking. On the other hand, my 187 I got from Neil, I will definitely get it checked out before committing it to the water. Usil
  7. I just logged on using my shortcut and this was at the top of the screen: 0 Date: Sun, 19 Nov 2006 10:09:40 GMT Server: Apache/1.3.37 (Unix) mod_auth_passthrough/1.8 mod_log_bytes/1.2 mod_bwlimited/1.4 PHP/4.4.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635.SR1.2 mod_ssl/2.8.28 OpenSSL/0.9.7a X-Powered-By: PHP/4.4.4 Set-Cookie: topicsread=deleted; expires=Sat, 19 Nov 2005 10:09:39 GMT; path=/; domain=.rwg.cc Set-Cookie: session_id=e93823f4bcf2b3c08cb3da29607939a7; path=/; domain=.rwg.cc Cache-Control: no-cache, must-revalidate, max-age=0 Expires: 0 Pragma: no-cache Keep-Alive: timeout=15, max=100 Connection: Keep-Alive Transfer-Encoding: chunked Content-Type: text/html;charset=iso-8859-1 2f63e What is this? Did a byte get dropped or it hiccuped? Tried the link again and all was well. Strange. Usil
  8. As you describe - with working 8-days, it does not exist as a rep. RWG members have posted rumors that a better model may be in the works but nothing definitive. Usil
  9. GTG? I can't do it this weekend, I am selling photos at an art fair but I can do it the next week. 22 or 25, 26 of November are ok. I have to confess I broke my rule for buying any more watches this year. I bought a IWC Portugese Chrono Automatic (black face with white subdials) used from an RWG member with a Hirsch strap and another IWC Ti (the one with yellow on part of the bezel also from an RWG member) both of which I will not see till I go home to the US in December so can not show them yet. I also have an IWC SS GST coming from Neil later this month and a band from ebay. So, nothing to show but I did fix my pearl on my 187 that looks pretty good. And I can show you what a sticky ball looks like. Usil
  10. At the risk of repeating myself... To which I say refer to: And: To which I would refer back to the entire purpose of the post which is not using loops and saving the eyes using the CCD imaging system. Sorry it has been a long day and I am a little testy but these just set me off. I have been dealing with people who have not been listening to me all day. Usil
  11. Focusing distance, field of view and working depth can all be worked out with proper optics. Usil
  12. I don't automatically think quartz as bad. I bought a retro Bret. from Neil and I like it a lot. Usil
  13. I set up a CCD camera on my microscope years ago so I don't have to squint into an optic for hours. It must be worse even for watch repair folks. Why not just set up a CCD to project the watch on a screen and go from there in repair without all the wear and tear on the eyes. They do this in the oeprating room too so fine work can be accomplished this way with training. Does this make sense? Anyone doing this or considered it? Usil
  14. It is legal but it would be nice to have one post and then just list his sales specials instead of doing the mass-mailing thing. Just my 2 cents Usil
  15. It is the holiday shopping group. Usil
  16. I would really like a SS bracelet for my 187. Anybody ever seen one? Dealers, can we get one? Am I the only one that wants one? Usil
  17. I was going to bid on it but could not with shipping costs at 5 times the value of the item. Usil
  18. Pugs Off to UK, Ryyannon off to Bali, I am off to the US next Summer - whos going to be left in Paris? Usil
  19. I have avoided this thread for several days and this is the first time I have looked at it (at work past 5 pm). I have had this general complaint before. To me, it is not a question of sexuality or beauty or even a moral question up for discussion. It is just that THIS IS A WATCH FORUM FOR GOD SAKE. It is in poor taste and to keep doing it in spite of the serious objections already put forth by members shows very poor judgement and sensitivity to the forum community. So, will you stop it? Usil
  20. Not to rub salt on the wond but 9 watches in one shipment? I would never do that for exactly this reason and I am surprised the dealer did not suggest a better distribution plan. Usil
  21. I have Fire Fox. Don't use it much. Too slow. Usil
  22. I have had the IE7 install button sitting in my tray for several days and everytime I click to bring it up, I can not bring myself to install it. I plan on doing a complete backup before I do this and before I do that I have a lot of cleanup I need to do. So, anyone installed this yet and was it worth it? (I have XP professional). Usil
  23. I was using farenheight. Right, amazing what we get used too. Don't seem to mind even now. Just part of the experience. If it ever mattered I would have quit a long time ago. (Sorry Nanuq, to have made this thread start to meander. The Cold weather things I have done seem to pop to the surface when I saw your thread.) Usil
