  1. Glad it is back but what just happened? Usil
  2. I actually have a friend at work who knows exactly what every watch I wear is. I met him in the airport a few months ago and he spots my new PO on the wrist 20 steps away and yells out - 'Hey, nice PO. And yet, he has never bought a rep or a gen even though I have showed him the rep dealers sites. He just loves watches. Kind of nice knowing someone who appreciates all the different PAMs I have. He has a friend with a gen 40mm PAM. He likes my 44mm reps better. Usil
  3. Nice project for a rainy afternoon in Paris. Usil
  4. Sorry Admin for your loss. I was assaulted a few months ago but not with guys with knives. This must have been truely horrifying. The thought still lingers with me but time is erasing the emotional stress and hopefully, for you someday soon. Usil
  5. Yeah, but you got to admit she is good and spunky. Here is her site: http://www.myspace.com/brookealley Usil
  6. That is one good looking watch. Any reps available? Usil
  7. When customs contacts you did they ask questions, want to see any paperwork, or what ever? Can you tell us the details of the contacts that finally got it through? Usil
  8. This is a great post. I have used shoe polish to slightly alter the color on some bands and this effected the stiching thread color too. Now I have a way to go back and tune up the color of the stiching thread. Thanks, Usil
  9. I have the 111h and I have been looking for a nice black croc strap for it. I need 125 by 80 in size and have had problems finding exactly what I want. Black croc does not seem to photo well and I do not want to pay USD 130 for it without knowing exactly what it looks like. Anyone already bought a Black Croc Strap they think is the best? Usil
  10. I am an American living in france (Paris) and I travel to Switzerland, Italy, Spain and Germany and have never had any issues with my PAMs, Breitlings, IWC's or any other thought I most often where just the PO now. None of the airports have ever stopped me at customs. In fact, I do not know who they stop because I have never seen anyone stoppped in the past three years I have been traveling in Europe. For those reading this thread - Has anyone been stopped by customs??? Usil

Amazing, I just tried this on my PO and that is exactly what I saw. Looks wierd but as long as it keeps good time. Usil
  12. Ok, it may just be me but the 111H is pure class. Putting a distressed strap on it is like wearing jeans with a tuxedo. But, I know also this is very personal so wear it with style and class. Usil
  13. My sub would be my second choice for best feel but being a big watch - PAM nut, it just does not get the wrist time, at home or on the road. Usil
  14. Hey Watchgirl. Still need to know if you fixed the timing. Usil
  15. I have a job that requires me to travel from time to time and I just realized that when I go, most of the time I put on my 45mm Planet Ocean (orange bezel). I have 18 reps and 1 on order and I like wearing the PO when I go away from home for a few days. It just feels right. Excellent comfort (one of the biggest reasons), not too heavy, good readability and pretty to look at. I have worn others in the past but stopped. The bretling band is not as comfortable, my PAMs sometimes feel too heavy, tried the Rolex Sub and it felt good on the wrist too but just too small. I have worn the IWC Big Pilot and liked that and I have worn the F. A .Jones which I also like but I still come back to the PO. It just seems to have everything going for it. I am on the road today in Bormio, Italy - high in the Italian Alps and guess what – it is the PO. When I am not on the road, I usually wear a PAM or Breitling Chrono Avenger or the Jones. Anyone else find a favorite they prefer for travel? Is it different when you stay home? Usil
  16. I ordered the blue faced one from Neil. It comes with a bracelet but what kind of band goes with blue? I don't think I like the blue aligator above. Usil
  17. I would have been first to point out the strap but I just got here. Where are you getting reps with straps like that? Usil
  18. Everything I have heard about this movie is bad. Is there nothing redeaming about it? It sounded like the premiss was interesting. Usil
  19. kanerich, For generally agreeing with each other outside of our personal preferences this is getting way to heavy a discussion. As I said I was just making a general statements - trying to draw from several threads to the make a point that it looked more like a 228 instead of the 89. I can agree that it draws from both which is why I said that I hope the manufacturers sort it out. Usil
  20. Me too. It was the combination of everything together plus the comments by Neil that the watch looked stunning that sold me on this. I wanted to extend my Panerai collection and this looked perfect. Next, I have always wanted a white dial Pam but have not decided which would be better. Currently, I do not have one. This too is to extend my collection to the differences available. I think many would look at all the black faced PAMs I have and initially, not see too much difference. Usil
  21. Saying 'For all those...' doesn’t point fingers at anyone in particular and I certainly do not ‘accuse’ members since I never even mentioned members. It was just a general statement and there were several threads on this and it was very confusing until the 228 was pointed out as being closest to what was being sold which is exactly what I indicated. I would not call it a fantasy watch ether just because of the existing flaws. We don’t call most other replicas ‘fantasy watches’ with all their listed flaws. Yes, there are some issues like the text and I cannot tell if the case is brushed or not on what Ttk is selling so will see when it arrives. The total watch descriptions from the dealers seems closer to the 228 (ss case, blue subdial) and not the 89 which should be titanium with black Subdial. I can not explain this unless the dealer reps have the black subdial though they look blue and are actually Titanium which is not mentioned. So it still looks confusing to me. It will be better when all this is better sorted out between the two watches by the manufacturers. Flaws and all, I like the watch. Usil
  22. Now I don't feel so bad about my hairy wrists. Usil
  23. You will get two different views on this. Some will say that this is entirely too small an issue to waste spending more money on to have it corrected. I am in this group. If I took a loop to my watches I am sure I would see things that I would later obsess over and I have expensive watches too. If I can not see it from an arms distance it is not worth the effort and expense. The others here in the forum will be for you to send it back as this being entirely unacceptable. This is a personal choice and I do not think there is a right or wrong answer. Do this, put it away for a week, bring it back out and wear it for a week and if you still feel the same, send it back. Sometimes time sorts this all out in terms of priorities. Usil
  24. I am not a doctor but was Director of Emergency Medical Services for about 10 years in an earlier career and have seen a lot of this. You current episode is more than likely not the initial injury as this probably happened earlier in your life, even up to several years ago. You probably sustained the initial damage to a disc because of something you did, maybe at a job. Lifting and turning at the same time is the primary culprit for this kind of injury and later episodes of pain can occur frequently with little warning. It can be as simple as stepping off a curve or bending over in bed tying your shoe. Repeats of this will occur and you should seek medical evaluation now. A doctor specializing in sports medicine is a good choice as they have a lot of experience with this kind of injury. He will do a Nuclear Magnetic Resonance scan to image the damaged area. From there he can prescribe a course of action. Surgery is the last thing on the list as there are always risk when operating near spinal nerves. He will prescribe muscle relaxants, anti-inflammatory meds and pain killers. This episode will last for about 10 days and progressively get better but it will likely reoccur at some time in your future. He will also prescribe some exercises to do. You need to see the doctor now. Waiting will delay proper treatment and permanent nerve damage can result. Hope you see a doctor soon. Usil
